Dyke's proposals suggest we're all going to have to recruit from our academies more. IMO we're well set for that. Nothing guaranteed, but my money's on (in order);
  • Pritchard. Right position, right attitude, right time, and tons of technique and firepower. I can see him tearing shit up on occasions in the EPL.
  • CCV: Only recently come on my radar, but the boy looks a beast of a CB with ball-playing skills as well.
  • Tom Glover as 3rd choice keeper: Bit unexpected this one, but have been really impressed with both his ability, attitude, and seemingly a willingness to adapt to the Lloris style. I think he'd count as 'home-grown' too.
Bubbling under is Fredericks, but I'm yet to be totally convinced given his stature - unless he's had a growth spurt since I last saw him... Could do with someone in his position though, and Yedlin has much to learn.

Tommy Carroll, the new messiah, seems to have just plateaued. Who knows though, he could well kick on.

What say you SC?

Too soon for CCV but maybe the year after. I agree on Pritchard and think he will be the only one next season.

1) Pritchard will be very prominently involved in a Pochettino system. In fact, I think his involvement will increase as the season progresses.

2) Fredericks. I think he will be second choice RB next season.

3) Onomah will see some time, but not much.

Would love to include Carroll as I think we need his skillset, and I like that he's improving in his confidence, but I think Poch prefers two sitters rather than a dynamic playmaker in midfield. IMO, I think that's a shame. I think relying on your attackers to make things happen makes you too static and predictable. So I think there's a genuine chance we end up selling him, and I don't agree with it.

If we don't, he'll undoubtedly see more time than Onomah and hopefully even more than Fredericks as I'd like to see he and Mason really push each other for the No 8 role.

I agree with the sentiment that it's to early for CCV. He's a very good defender, but he's not particularly big and so I think his transition will need to be gradual rather than baptizing him in fire. I think he needs a good loan spell to get acquainted to the professional level before he starts factoring into the equation for our first team.

I'm going Pritchard, Alli, and CCV.
No point in hanging about with all 3 as they could do a better job than the 3 fringe players they would replace (as did Kane, Mason, and Bentaleb),

Depends who goes or arrives but at the moment McGee, Fredericks, Carroll, Veljkovic & Pritchard should be given a chance in pre-season

He could become home grown in the future, but he is far from it at this point. Not that it matters for youngsters, they can be used without registration regardless.

Didn't we all think that with Dier though? And yet he was forced into the 11 through injuries and (although a work in progress) has done himself proud.

I feel we're too cautious with the kids in the EPL - not just at Spurs.

"You'll win nothing with kids"

The Great Dane, Nabil, Scrappy-doo, Dier, HurriKane, The Llama, etc - young lads with technique, athleticism and a will to win. And a damn good Head Coach to help them develop.

COYS!!!!

I'm really vague on this point. Something to do with being educated for 5 years in the UK before 18?... but I can't for the life of me work out when he moved. I know it was 'young', but I've read conflicting reports.

No, because Dier is a) considerably larger and b) had faced professional football. I think most were guessing we'd phase him in through the Europa (which would have been likely had Walker been healthy at the time). CCV though needs to experience playing with humans much larger than at the academy level before we fling him in at the EPL or even Europa level.

Button should've been our third choice keeper for the past few seasons. For some reason he was never given his chance and is a more talented keeper than McGee.
He is a better keeper than Butland atm, been one of the best in the championship, with the lack of english goalkeepers he is a better shout than some of them

should be onomah, don't think people quite realise just how unique a skillset he has. hope he gets game time in the final few games this season and gets fast-tracked into the 1st team team picture next year. pritchard is an obvious one, fredericks and carroll are kind of in the same boat, although the hms rb is looking a little creakier than hms cm currently. think veljkovic will repeat 8th grade so to speak and i don't see ccv or kwp being in the senior equation for a while yet. oh yeah and alli, not sure what we'll do with him.

Do they have to be human, or could we loan him to West Ham?

KW-P a possible too - although I suspect a top tier Champ loan is more probable. Kid does look pretty decent though, and more than able to handle himself physically.
