This is tough isnt it but Im gonna try. I have 2 teams. 1 is based on players I've watched (from 1981) and the other based on limited research and knowledge about the legends. Here goes:-

Best ever:-
........................Jennings.........................
Perryman...King....England..Knowles
........Blanchflower......Mackay..............
..........................Hoddle...........................
Waddle.............Greaves..............Jones

Subs - Lloris, Roberts, Modric, Ginola, Klinsmann, Berbatov, Mullery
Since 1981:-
........................Lloris..............................
Perryman...King....Roberts.........Ziege
.........Gazza....Hoddle.......Ardiles.........
Waddle...........Klinsmann.........Ginola

Subs - Clemence, Gough, Modric, Berbatov, Bale, Galvin, Lineker

From players i have seen live.......

...........................................Clemence.................................

Danny Thomas.....................Roberts (c)..........Ledley....................Hughton..

.......................................Ardiles..........Luka.....................................

...............Waddle.........................Hoddle..................Bale...........

.......................................Jurgen......................

That team would win the world cup..:D.......if shape didn't matter i would have Gazza in for luka, but i went for a reasonably realistic option.

How Bale isn't in any of those starting line ups is beyond me!

I'm just gonna base a team on what I have seen with my own eyes

Players I've seen live in a stadium on on old videos or youtube clips

.........................Lloris
Carr ....Mabbutt....King....Ziege
.............Gazza...Modric
Waddle..........................Bale
..............Berbatov
.................Klinsmann

With honourable mentions to Ginola, Sheringham, Lineker and a dishonourable mention to Sol Campbell (who in truth I'd actually put in the line up ahead of Mabbutt)

I think (unless I am missing someone) our full backs are the weak link in my team and it shows we've never really been blessed there in my days (all I can keep thinking of is Austin and Edinburgh)

Players my dad and Granddad always drummed in to my head were actual club Legends -
Jennings, Greaves, Mackay, Chivers, Gilzean, Archibald, Blanchflower, Hoddle stand out as the main heros and club legends from their tales of former glories

With due respect to Archibald, he's the odd one out there. He was good, no doubt, but not in the same legend category of the others.

I never saw him play - he's just a name I always heard growing up

My dad's favourite ever player was Greaves but I guess the likes of Archibald and Chivers, Knowles, Jennings and Mackay etc where in the teams he watched as a young man when football was his everything before getting married and raising a family where as the likes of Blanchflower were before his time

Is a DVD of the 2008 Carling Cup final the only exposure you've ever had to Spurs matches?

No blanchflower? Or he'd already left by the time you started watching spurs?

No I did see Danny but he would not get in my team, he was a great player though.
