Not quite sure where he fits in but he is a top player, causes the big sides problems, holds the ball up, strong, however not in a priority area for us so I'd have him as long as we can still get other targets.

Id hate that because Lo Celso could mean we stop dragging dele back and allow him to join Son, Kane, Moura as one of our attacking outlets
It messes everything up. The carefully thought-out plan to pair Ndombele and Lo Chelso, becomes Ndombele and the lack lustre Eriksen. Not title challenging IMO.

He does offer that unpredictable element, but surely be too much for what we'd be looking to pay.

Zaha scares the shit out of defenders. Plus can easily play as a centre forward if kane is injured or rotated. Also with VAR next season zaha will win us lots of pens ?

Winks/DM
Ndombele - Lo Celso
Eriksen Kane son

With Lucas, dele, Lamela, Sissoko, Clarke, etc. on the bench or as squad depth looks better to me than Eriksen playing in central midfield. You could swap out Eriksen for several players and the team looks decent still. By not getting lo Celso, Eriksen going out of the side makes us significantly weaker imo. Ndombele, Sissoko, winks just doesn't look as good as the alternative. A lot less creativity there with Eriksen gone and Lucas, son and Kane up front.

Seeing as Ali Z did say 'unexpected', I'd prefer his national team compatriot Pepe personally. Bouhafsi did mention yesterday that Lille were expecting Premier League clubs other than Liverpool or United to make another attempt for him, so maybe its him?

Pepe is undoubtedly the kind of player we'd be tracking for sure. He's the attacking equivalent of De Jong and Ndombele. Insane potential at a young age. I think he's more a striker that plays wide but he does look the real deal.

Poch does seem to love Zaha though. Now Hazard has left he is probably the most feared player in a one on one in the league now. I've been all for signing him in the past.

I'd rather Lo Celso if an either or, considering we have Sessegnon and Clarke potentially coming in as wide impact players, and there's still the Bale situation bubbling away in the background.

If Eriksen signs a new deal, I think there's a strong argument to say his game picks up again, if anything to prove RM wrong. When on form there aren't many better AMs in Europe than CE, and he has a knack for late winners that is invaluable.

Not at all against it. He is similar to Moura but i feel he is a better dribbler with a worse finish. The thing that i feel is consistent with Zaha is his dribbling skills and talent when it comes to get passed players. Moura and Son is able to to this as well but they seem to be more inconsistent and very dependent om good form to pull it of. He would bring value to the team IMO.

If we decide to go 4-3-3 it would make more sense to sign Lo Celso AND keep Eriksen but I don't think we've ever played a 4-3-3 under Poch. That said, our options for rotation in midfield and attack would genuinely start to rival Man City and Liverpool. We might struggle to keep everyone happy but we'd have far more chance of sustaining a title challenge or surviving a bout of injuries.

Son is our version of Zaha, and I personally believe he is better. Zaha would be a good signing as we wouldn’t need a backup to Kane. Son, Moura, Zaha could all do a job up top. 55-60 on him though when we have more important gaps to fill? Not for me.

What is clear however is we are targeting players capable of taking on their man and creating chances. Lo Celso, Ndombele and Zaha are all top top dribblers. We have lacked that. Think that’s why Eriksen has received so much criticism, he can’t beat a man with skill, however surround him with players that can and he’d thrive again.

This saga has been done to death. Zaha is 26 and now is probably the time to move if he wants to take the next step. But make no mistake, CP will want a king's ransom for him, with or without United sell on clause.

I personally would much rather invest in Lo Chelso or a talented DM or LB. On the other hand Zaha can play as a central striker so it would solve our strike force long term.

He’s so limited a player I can’t see why Poch or anyone would rate him.

Pray we are not going to waste any money on him.

Guardiola rates him, said he is the best player outside of the top 6. We've had plenty of ITK saying Poch loves him too. I'm sure you know better though...

Can't believe the negativity in this thread. I've been banging the Zaha drum since we were linked for 16m or so a few years back (at a time when Zaha hadn't pulled up trees) so i'm all in favour of this. We need to stop thinking of 'he wouldn't start ahead of Son...' 'wouldn't start ahead of Alli...' etc. We need as many quality players in the attacking third as possible IMO.

Plus, Zaha played a lot through the middle last year and did well so would fill another one of those Kane back-up roles like Son does when he's injured - and not require an out-and-out No. 9 like Llorente.

I'm dubious we could get him for as little as 55 - 60m though (which yes might sound absurd). However, he would tick off a nice HG box too.

And finally. With VAR this year, he could win us penalties aplenty.
