I'd have thought Sessegnon would do OK in that scenario. Can't see the point of Zaha and Sessegnon coming in at the same time.

I personally see Sessegnon as a potential world class lb but as a winger I see his ceiling as lower than our current wingers ability, just my opinion though, Poch could well see him as a winger, rumour has it my scouting ability has got 1 or 2 wrong before.

I saw a bit of chat about Zaha and Everton and how much Palace would be asking in the Bruno thread, but it got me wondering if given the fact that Zaha has been wanting to leave for quite a while, there might be some sort of gentleman’s agreement that he can leave for a CL team. I’m not saying that means Palace would necessarily accept less from us, but maybe would be more willing to deal at 65+add ons/players (not sure who - Wanyama maybe) than they are with Everton’s 65+players

I'm not saying it's a possobility but if they want McCarthy they might want Wanyama.

IMO, if we get him, I think we'll see much more of him as an attacking force. I don't think he'll be entrusted with a whole lot of defensive duties (at least to start off with).

You get the sense that Zaha might get his wish with the Everton talk and if he's suddenly going to everton for 65 + a player I can definitely see Levy thinking there's a deal to be do e for someone Poch has always liked. And as rebrab said in the ITK thread - Levy likes jumping on deals where the price is publicly known

The deal is surely there to be done. Wilf is desperate to leave for UCL football and I doubt things would go well for him and Palace over the next year if a legitimate 60m-70m offer arrived and they refused to entertain it. VVD did nothing positive for Southampton after they kept him against his will. Same with Coutinho at Pool. It just never works out the way club directors think it will. Zaha could be a legitimate choice to lead the line when Kane sits, offers Poch formation flexibility to switch to a 4-3-3 and doesn’t take up a precious non-HG spot. In so many ways it helps us balance this roster. I’m struggling with all this Coutinho and Dybala nonsense when this is a deal that has been there to be made for us since Lille set the price for Pepe.

Also, per Hercules ITK in the main thread, he alludes to a surprise when suggesting Palace are interested in a couple of ours. Perhaps if we tempt them with the likes of KWP and a nother then Zaha might be the surprise we weren't expecting

So with palace potentially interested in 3 of our players, the swap suddenly seems a doable deal. I'd assume the 3 are VW & SA, but unsure on the third - poss GKN? The system would change to the 433 similar to Liverpool's, which I feel Poch wants. Zaha being HG helps massively and allows us to go for an Atal/Hysaj as the new RB.

SA would be a fantastic signing for them, while also ideal for us if it gives us the leverage we need for Zaha

Maybe why ValenciaYid is now saying we are pushing for a right back?

Always felt he’d be brilliant for us

So Palace want three of our players, including potentially our RB, but we stood aside while AWB went to Utd? Eh?

Everton offered 70m + McCarthy (permanent) and Tosun (loan) but Palace rejected it saying they wanted 100m!

Zaha is reportedly furious and feels that Palace had assured him that reasonable offers would be accepted.

Feels like it'll be a deadline day deal if it's gonn happen at all. Could only see us going in for him if all our other targets fall through.

I get that Palace wanna keep him but they're being a little unreasonable IMO.

To be fair Zaha is going to the difference between them staying in the league or not.
They have done very little business.
£100m whilst obscene is probably just for their reasons.

Apparently Everton are in for iwobi now so would guess they’re giving up on Zaha
I mean, I'm a big fan of Zaha, but if it's true that Palace turned down an offer of £70m plus two players, that's just absolutely ludicrous.

I'd still be happy to take him on deadline day if all else failed, but not at anywhere near £100m, and I'd have no faith in getting a deal done quickly.

I don't think it is to be honest. What would a club like Palace be able to do with that money now? They couldn't even sign anyone half as good as Zaha given the time left in the window.

Zaha single handedly kept them in the league last season and for a club like Palace he's practically priceless.

Would you rather have £70M in the bank and a couple of additional turds in the squad...

...or be relegated?

I know what I'd choose.
