I also, from a French fan I trust heard him described as the Turkish Ben Davies, which also seems fairly accurate.
Checks out

Hopefully he’s better than the last Zeki we signed ...

Just realize he is playing league two football now. We played him as a CB against Benfica at the knockout stage of Europa ..... (Yes I know we did not have any CB at that moment, his CB partner was Sandro)

He was very highly rated at the time by United and iirc Fergie was really p*ssed that he left.

We screwed Utd over big time with that one! It was revenge for Carrick and Berbatov. They stole our best players, so we poached one of their useless youngsters. I think they've learned a valuable lesson.

Sure would like to see some movement on this over the next week or two. Would get some outgoings started also.

This may allay some fears

That report outlines how well he performs in a pressing team. We are also signing holbjerg who has also performed well, again, in a pressing team. Yet we aren’t expected to operate like that under Mourinho.

I find that a bit weird we are targeting players who’ve played in teams who operate a different style.

Mourinho does like to press teams...if he has the players. He explained it himself on his Inter team....our current squad incidentally is evolving like that squad. Getting in Lucio, he played his backline 20m further forward in 2009/10. He had a very attack minded RB in Maicon and defensive left back in Zanetti. Cambiasso was the sitting MF who reads situation and passes long after recovery. I am not saying Hojbjerg is Cambiosso like but role he will play should be similar.

Question on whether he will press or not will be answered by if he gets Skriniar. If he gets him, I cant see us playing up field. Our faster CBs are Sanchez & Tanganga. So it will also be fascinating how these 2 will be used.
