Played very well today, Gomes is gonna be a big favourite, if he gets that excited everytime we score in friendlies then god knows what he'll do in a meaningful match!

I agree, his pull-ups on the crossbar at the start of each half seem to get the crowd going aswell. Long may it continue!

It was an easy stroll against Roma...IMO not the sort of game we needed to start against Middlesbough next week. Roma were very unfit, alot of there players looking over weight, they really wasn't in any good shape to give us a test.

Berbatov-played as his done all pre-season (apart from Celtic) not really interested.

Gio-will be an important player for us this season, he really has surprised me with his level of decision making, for such a young player he is football intelligent.

Bentley-as usual, we can rely on the quality of his delivery which rarely disappoints, but IMO Lennon when he came on gave Roma all sorts of problems with his tenacity and pace.

Bent- in a 4231 system is ideal, he has excellent movement, pace and can finish, he deserves a good run of league games to transfer his scoring touch to PL games.

Woodgate-was uncompromising and dominate in the air. It was good to see Ledley get a run out in the second half alongside Woody.

Jenas- clearly given instructions to be much more disciplined, basically patrolled the midfield, not really busting forward. I was surprised he didn't give the arm band to King straight away when King came on..only when he went off.

Modrich-played in second gear but 100% sure he has much more gears to move into.

Zokora- Mr professional, the crowd love him and looks pretty good as a right back.

Berbs goin home at half time wouldnt be good, if true.

We've played better without him throughout pre-season imo so not too fussed. would rather we sell him than change a winning formula just to accommodate a player who is only half-interested. Still think once a deal for Arshavin is done we'll let him go.

double0 jenas went to take the armband off when ledders came on but ledders told him to wear it then started pointing to where players should be.

i got value for my £20 seat in the upper park lane tier especially when the guys at the back were banging the stadium walls to make drum sounds sheer class...

Re Berby going home at half time, I was in the corporate area and one of the senior club officials (not fair to say who) told me Berby had gone straight home after half time. Pretty certain it was true and Berby wasn't on the subs bench the 2nd half, unlike all the others.

SSN asked Gus to clear up the situation with Berba and he said there's nothing to clear up

a sensational player that has handled the whole thing poorly and his form has suffered more than ours has. He's going to be under even more pressure than he was anyway if he moves on and if it is UTD they're going to look clumsy after how they've pursued him and eventually bent to levy's valuation. The whole thing is such a shame.

Just got back from the game (and the beers afterwards). We rolled them over almost too easily, 2-0 up after about 4 minutes.

I wasn't aware Berbatov had gone home at half time, was that because he had been subbed or did he just go?

For those talking BAE or Bale I though BAE did OK but Bale looked better when he cam one.

It was really good see Ledly come ok.

SSN have just announced Corluka has decided to stay at Citeh.Eek

There may be a perfectly fine reason for Berbatov to have gone home. I don't think he would just go.

Just got back from the game. What a performance! The whole game was immaculate and a great confidence booster against a 'top' Europeam team. Great to see Bentley getting in the goals again, as well and Benty. Gomes and Bentley feel like true Yids already.

Are we doing ratings? Best to get back into the old habit I think.

Gomes - 7 - Not a lot to do apart from entertain the crowd.

Zokora - 8 - Energized. Anyone know what was said between him and the left back? I can only think a racist comment, Didier doesn't react like that.

Dawson - 7 - Solid.

Woodgate - 8 - Very good.

Assou-Ekotto - 6.5 - Some bad passes, caught in possession and not a great touch. Suppose it's about fitness for him.

Bentley - 8.5 - Superb. Stunning second goal.

Jenas - 8 - Controlled the game, along with...

Modric - 8 - JJ's partner in crime.

Dos Santos - 8 - Brilliant. Think he'll be a superstar this season.

Berbatov - 7 - Same old I guess. Not much sight of goal but still has a touch of a God.

Benty - 8 - Same as he has been during pre-season. Pacey, hard working and clinical.

Bale - 7.5 - Very good and great to see him on the pace again.

O'Hara - 7 - Didn't think he did a lot but didn't put a foot wrong.

Lennon - 8 - Looks better than he's ever been.

Huddlestone - 6.5 - Not great.

King - 7 - Same old Ledley. So composed. Great to see him come through another run out again. Don't think he's lost any of his pace either...

Gunter - 7 - Solid and reliable defensively and offensively.

Gilberto - 7 - Good.

Janssonn - 6 - Didn't have to do much, the cheers must have boosted him.

Couldn't agree more. I still did sing it because once anything is going it an automatic thing. But I'd far rather here "Stand up if you love Tottenham".
