Keep the same team that beat Brum as intact as possible. So Huddlestone and Palacios in the middle Kranjcar in place of Modric. King and Bassong hopefully at centre back. And possibly Gomes in goal if he's fit enough. However, i do have a feeling that Crouch will start alongside Defoe. He might have done enough from the bench against Brum to earn a starting place. And i'm not sure Harry will start Defoe and Keane up front against Utd. Its great to have Jenas back in the squad though, cos he could do a job from the bench if we need to see out the game.

and a stat stolen from COYS

If we win 5-4 tomorrow We will have accumulated 900 points in the Premier League.

Scored 900 goals in the Premier League and conceded 900 goals in the Premier League.

That is insane. I'm placing a bet on that.

So who would you play if fit alongside Palcios? Jenas or Hud?

Huddlestone every single time. On form, classy midfielder vs only just back from injury obsolete midfielder.

Just thinking about this, is it not 10 years when we beat Man USA last ? ( I recall Carr scoring a screamer !). I do honestly think we can do it tomm, I am hearing that King will play but OS it states he is touch and go ! But I would love to see
Gomes,Corulka,King,Bassong,BAE,LENNON,Wilson,JENAS,KRANCJER ( sorry for ther spelling,DEFOE and KEANE..... A BIG COYS !!

Last time was in the final game of 00/01, under Hoddle. We were at home. We won 3-1. Korsten scored two wondergoals by just controlling and shooting from far out without putting any energy into it, and looked quite the playmaker all game long. Needless to say he never represented us again.

I'd put in Gomes if fit, Cudicini scares me, and hopefully we can have King to play with Bassong. I really was hoping Woody would be back.

I know Jenas is fit and Kranjcar has signed, but I hope Giovani still makes the bench after his recent form.

Crouch should definitlely play, he earnt it v Brum.

Gomes
Corluka King Bassong Ekotto
Lennon Huddlestone Palacios Kranjcar
Defoe Crouch

Bench: Cudicini Hutton Jenas Bentley Giovani Keane Pavlyuchenko

Unless he leaves out Jenas or Bentley for Bale to improve our defensive options that is.

Some info i've just got from my mates dad who is currently working at Crouchy's gaff. Speaking to Pete, he seems pretty confident he is starting tomorrow. I guess that suggests Keane in the left/roaming Modric role?

We really must show our intentions and beat this lot tomorrow! If mods was fit I would even go as far as to say that I would have us as favourites but as it is I'd say it was about evens.

Harry hasn't done much wrong so far and after loads of us were moaning on opening day that he was playing Keane and Defoe together it has actually worked out. Will he keep as it is? Will he bring in Crouch and move Keane to the left? Will he bring in Crouch and give Niko his debut? Will he bring in JJ for Hudd?

Those are all big selection questions that will have an impact on the game. I really woouldn't like to guess? Personally I think that Keano has often played well against Man U floating in the hole or drifting wide and so I would probably opt for leaving Keano up front and bringing in Niko. Crouch can have a very big impact from the bench imo and if we are chasing the game he almost guarentees getting at least a few chances in and around the box.

As for the Hudd and JJ debate, I don't think Hudd has made it his own just yet and he has looked a bit sluggish at times in the last 2 games so perhaps JJ deserves a chance?

I really don't know but I'm very excited about this game because we have everything to gain from it. If we win we will be taken seriously, if we lose we will be castigated and laughed at but we can then go about our business under the radar having been cast aside as serious challengers to the sky 4.

I just wish we had Woody and Mods fit for this one.

Bassong will play. JJ will absolutely not play at rightback tomorrow!

I would have loved to see Krankjar start this one in the Modric role, but that 5-1 in the week must have had a demoralising effect, whereas Keane scored a winner for Ireland. i would go with Keane on the left, especially seeing as we are at home, and should be going for the win. Crouch up top with Defoe also gives us an out ball if we get pinned back.

I would go with Hudd, but only because Jenas has only just come back, otherwise it would have been JJ for me against Man U, as we need to cover a lot of ground in midfield, and even though we are at home, we will probably have less of the ball. Might have been closer with Modric, but we aint got him.

So:

Gomez (if fit)

Charlie (Hutton) - Bassong - King (Charlie) - Disco

Lennon - Hudd - God (mkII) - Keane

Little - Large

How would JJ start over Hutton at RB?

i dont know, i thought bassong might not be fit and that jj could go to right back as he is a better all round player than hutton :)

i think jj is one of redknapps ''boys'' whereas hutton is just ''meat''

remember how redknapp exiled hutton to left back against doncaster.
i'd like to think he would throw naughton or jenas in at the deep end against manure, just to see the reaction. hutton could wait on the bench as insurance..

Nearly every preview I have read is saying that Man U will be too good for us or will grudgingly say we may earn a draw! That's just how we like it and when we have beaten them come Saturday night Linekar will be able to rub in the nation's face on MOTD!

I can't bloody wait for this one!

dont see the rationale behind all these pundits predictions. we have lost 1 time at home since redknapp took over. we drew 0-0 with them last season. we have won what 6 home games in a row.

Nah. One thing you do not want to be doing against Man U is throwing young lads, or out of position CM's in at right back. We have a very good RB in Hutton, why sub him in place of a player who may not even hold down a position in CM, let alone in a position he only ever plays in an emergency for 10 mins.

We have a great chance tomorrow, we wont blow it by experimenting.

The media love Man u.
Lets see what they print when Palacios has smashed Fletcher all over the park.

We saw against Brum that if the opposition are disciplined and determined to park the bus it's very difficult to play ball to feet. One thing you can guarantee about tomorrow is that the Soccerballs won't sit back and hope to sneak a goal on the break. Difficult to decide which will be the best starting striker combination for us.
