Have been giving it a bit of thought seeing Arsenal tried this before back in the late nineties - would you want to see Spurs play Champs League Qualifier at Wembley or White Hart Lane ?? Its something i could imagine the club doing ??

I don't want them to be anywhere near the Wembley pitch until is proven to be decent.

I know whats going to happen. They'll get the pitch set in nice for the September Euro qualifier, then the NFL guys will tear it up in October.

The Lane. Why play it at a neutral venue? Take every advantage you can get.

Weird. A mate of mine rung me yesterday and said he'd heard we were considering using Wembley with CL 'season' tickets being put on offer. I just told him to fuckoff back to Jackanory and changed the subject. I might have to ask him if he 'heard' it as in someone ITK told him or he just read it on some forum or another.

Wasn't there a thread ages ago about how the advertising boards around the edge of the pitch had to be X amount bigger than for Europa League games and that we'd lose the first 2 or 3 rows of seats around the pitch?

No way, White Hart Lane all the way... Not least because all the opposing players raise their game because they're playing at Wembley...

Yeah A&C, not sure about the Europa League, but the Champions League has higher advertising hoardings so the first few rows would not be used... Silly, really...

Wembly pitch is a joke, we should go no where near there! play at the lane is the only option, we need to play at home

It'd be easier to get to Wembley for me but it's gotta be WHL. That's the place I've been waiting to hear the CL music.

The atmosphere is better at White Hart Lane. Closer to the pitch. Plus it's our home.

It's a no brainer.

Exactly, White Hart Lane European nights are special and we haven't haemorrhaged all this emotion for the past eternity to watch us at wembley.

Besides, we're there once a year anyway

I believe if we are to evolve as a club and play with the big boys, we have to get rid of the "small club" mentality.

Why play a qualifying match at Wembley as if its our "cup final" and we wont be progressing further?

Part of the romance of this cup is to compete with these teams with the view of battering them on our turf!!

How ironic would it be that Kaye, Andy and Wooderz get their first season tickets, see us qualify for the champions league for the following season and then not be allowed to watch as their rows were obstructed by advertising

Though obviously the club would just relocate them somewhere else.

Oh, and to answer the question, has to be the Lane. I fucking hate Wembley.

100% the lane. Wembley is a soulless concrete bowl. Which looks really good from pictures on the tv and has potential to be really great stadium but its ruined by the corporate bowl round the middle which ruins the atmosphere. I believe this would still be in place for the champions league games as club wembley members have seats for every event there for x amount of years so presumable if we wanted to play the Champions league there it would still apply. So we could end up with either alot of empty seats in club wembley area or lots of neutrals there which would ruin the atmosphere. CL nights at the lane will be special and I imagine will have same hair on back of necks feel to them like when we play Arse*al or the Chavs at the lane.
Also other major point dont people remember when Ars*al tried this experiment 12 or so years ago they hardly won a game there,

It is more than likely though we will end up with a reduced capacity because of the advertising boards. So will be interesting to see what the club does. Ones things for sure im glad im a season ticket holder so will be able to attend all these games. i feel sorry for members as alot of them are going to end up disappointed.
