IF Keano were English....he would be the BEST thing since King Harold shat himself when he saw the French Attack (4-2-5000). He has scored a whole lot of International goals with a team that are frequently ;'cheated' out of Euro and WC Qualification (and that is not to mention Scum Hero Henry).
Keano was 'shafted' by the English (Managerial) disease of not being able to appreciate that players outside the EPL/La Liga etc are capable of holding their own...and Harry is the main culpit (Defoe is an inferior to Keano and Harry is guilty of being BLIND, to the detriment of our Clubs CL hopes? It is 'done and dusted' now, but, what would we have achieved with a 'proper' and fair minded Boss? Fewer, average players (Defoe, Huddleston etc) will make us even more attractive...but....can we trust our management decisions? NO...Keano has been ignored....again and again....so...it is no longer feasible to expect him to waste his remaining years at The Lane? Now....how do we build a Squad that can compete? NO English need apply haha:clap:, perhaps? It worked for most of the recent CL Winners.....? COYS!

There is a rather bloody excellent post and I shalt inflict it with the appropriate reppage.

A point I've raised on here a few times back when I was defending Keano upon his return.

Alongside Kanoute and Mido, NOT JUST BERBATOV MAKING HIM LOOK GOOD CRAZY PEOPLE he was mustard.

Crouch is pretty crap at linking up with partners, yeah yeah he knocks down the ball for VDV but any centre forward worth their salt in the air could do this.

Crouch has never filled me with confidence for England linking up with Rooney either, there's just something about him...

Defoe needs a big minder-type to play alongside him. And that was when he was in his limited peak.

Not saying Keano has or hasn't lost it, but it would have been interesting if we'd have bought a centre forward in of Kanoute / Mido / Berbs quality and linked them with Keano up front.

Keane needs a good 6 footer alongside him who has a good football brain and is able to link up with him - and when Keano and Berbs ruled the Prem Commentators and pundits pointed out there weren't much pace there but they had such good movement and footballing brains that this didn't matter.
This is pretty much what I was going to say, Keane is a good striker when played with an intelligent partner. He also played well with Superted.

I loved Keane, but to be honest he fucked up big time

1, The moment he got married he aged 30 years
2. No more flips or such like celebrations cos he could no longer do them
3. Liverpool trip .. the women indoors is a scouse wag!!

He has not got the passion any more. Having said that at SPAM is intelligence and runs made them look naive.

Is there any gas left in them old legs. I think there is but needs to sort his brain out and focus on his football.

I will miss his pointy wagging

Best forward since Allen, ArchiBald and Greaves

Robbie has just scored against Scotland to equal Bobby Charltons tally of 49 international goals.

Great goal, picked it up in his own half and stuck in a left foot shot from outside the box. Keeper will be dissapointed, it kind of went under him.

And to think that people are of the view that he is so inferior to Defoe that he didn't even deserve a chance this past season.....

I'd admit, I thought he was finished, but he's scored 5 in the last 6 International games. He was very, very poor at the start of last season though.

For the best part of the past two years he has been frozen out of his parent club, yet people seem to be of the attitude that if he doesn't do the business within a 10 minute sub appearance that means he's a shit has-been.

Maybe he is past it, but with our strikers being so poor this past year I think he deserved more of a chance. Who is to say that he wouldn't have played ten shit games, but then start scoring and ultimately have scored more than Defoe, which in turn would have won us more games and potentially gotten us fourth? Whether he has lost some of his quality or not, he has been harshly treated by the club and by the fans IMO.

I will always have time for Robbie. A great servant to the club who has more than paid for his Liverpool affair.

Azrael, I couldn't agree with you more, who's to say that he wouldn't have scored a few vital goals for us had he stayed.

Fans have very little patience these days though and tend to write players off very quickly.
