:eek:mg: Is that a running track around the ball?

Almost certainly, the prick that got it had a tattooist in New York do it and it's slowly sloughed down his arm over the years.

There's a lesson people. tattoos might look good initially but they'll look shite when you're in your 50's!

A friend of min from university was a passionate Newcastle United fan - had been since a kid - and used to go to the matches when he could. Had the posters, the shirt and the mug. Met up with him a couple of years ago and he's now supporting Manchester United. Disgraceful.

Doubt he had a tattoo though.

How could you do that? I don't get it at all. Does he really feel happy when they win? It's insane!

Don't ask me! He really was a genuine, passionate Barcodes fan. He had the shirt, the calendar, the posters....

I was shocked and a bit sickened when I found out he'd migrated to Man United. He was always a bit of a wishy-washy personality anyway, so probably just followed whoever was around him at the time.

Twat.

Not sure how old the OP is, but here is a story that I have told on here before.

My best pal got a tattoo at about 15/16 on his left arm, of the Spurs badge with the red lions, and the yellow Audere est facere from circa 1991.

By the time he was 20, he regretted it massively.

From 20-25, we used to go to night clubs and he could never where a T-shirt (In the era of boyband fashion), as they would not let him in if they could see the tattoo. (I'm talking good clubs)

He became a professional for a bank and could never get changed in the gym in front of colleagues or anything, because of this fucking monstrosity on his arm.

About 3 years ago, when he had plenty of dough floating about he went to get it removed by laser. He couldn't. It was not possible for this.

He is quite ripped and muscular, so he had to have a mega, shoulder and chest covering WWE, UFC type tatto that covered the spurs one in the design (although you can still make out bits of it). otherwise he wouldn't get his body out on holiday.

The moral is, if you have any self esteem, any brains, and have had genuine time to think about this, DONT GET A FUCKING FOOTBALL TATTOO.

I wouldn't have a tattoo full stop, I think they can look good if they are tastefully done, and on darker complexions, but they are fucking awful on pasty white yocks like most of us probably are

The general standard of tattoos that you see should be reserved, for Northerners, Gypo's, and white trash, or in the case of my pal who has the Cypriot map on his arm in YELLOW, extreme cases of drunkeness.

I disagree about football related tat's looking sh*t. I think it just depends on what you get and how it's done.

Getting Audere-Est-Facere is just like getting any kind of text done and if done well would look good.

I have this on my leg as I think it doesn't look to obvious as a football tat and works well as a tattoo. But hey, each to their own....

Oh and I was holidaying in Bali a couple of years ago and spotted a guy across the pool with the exact same tat. It was like that scene in American History X when you spot "one of your own" across the yard haha.

Anyway we spent most of the time chilling in the pool talking Tottenham and watched the Toon get relegated, much to our delight!

I would say, if you insist on getting one, despite my rant, something like those two is the way forward.

They are spurs related, but in a more tactful way. I'd have gone smaller and more discrete on both if I was a tattoo fan.

I know my post was elitist, and I don't care, but I do know people in good jobs, with full sleeves. One guy is ginger and pale, and it actually looks ok, because it's not full of tattoo cliches, like snakes and religious symbolism, but he has to sun bed a lot, so when he is 40, he will look like an unironed Ed Hardy Tshirt.
