You mean he'll be in the under 21 list thus wouldn't take up a spot in the 25?

It would be a great bonus, especially if we end up with 4 strikers. He would be a good replacement in the squad for Keane and free up a spot in the 25.

That, and eventually if he's still here would take up part of the 25 man squad when he reaches 21.

It isn't totally unthinkable that within the next 2-3 seasons we sell Kane for 20m, Pedroza for the same and Coulibaly for 45m. We'll have been paid about 10 million pounds to send some players on loan.

That's the sort of shit that gets Levy excited in the trouser department.

Now that is what gets a Spurs fan excited

Backs up some ITK and other whispers that have been knocking around.

Clearly we're gonna be taking a hefty loss here. Bought for £9M, sold for - what? - £5M?. £4M out of pocket and he only played about 50 games for us... Poor.

you can look at it like that or, you can say - he's one of the players we dont mind losing, we have better in the squad/coming through, he played in a final we won, taking a £3-4 million loss is not the end of the world. Its players like him that we need to get rid of asap, so we can buy a shiney new striker.

If it is the case, at least we save a squad place and have him off the wage bill.

Great news if true. After each sale we make I feel we're finally closer to making signings of our own.

I don't know he never lived up to his potential and having him in the squad could prevent the development of walker so I say good riddance. Let's face it we are no worse off without him infect we may be less likely to concede penalties!

I can't remember if Hutton's final fee was staggered or incentivised at all, as it might have not had its full value triggered.

But even if it has, this is still a smaller loss than the profit we made on O'Hara, so who cares? You win some (most, actually, when you're Levy) and lose some.

5mill transfer fee, 1.5million a year off the wage bill for Hutton, 5mil transfer fee and about 1million a year off the wage bill from O'Hara.

Not a bad start

IIRC the Hutton deal was like 9million staggered over something stupid like 5 years, it may well be that the payments recieved for Hutton will exceed the payments going out, so in terms of P&L it would be a technical positive cash flow on the remaining deal?? Dont know if that is right or not.

Still need to get rid of a couple of strikers. 6 on the books if you count Johnny 2 Saints and VDV.

Anyone but Adebayor

Arsenal fans celebrated his departure, Man City don't want him, Real Madrid don't want him... IMO He is a lazy prick who we would all hate very quickly. No thanks

This has been debated at length in the Adebayor Thread - maybe you should go there (and read it, rather than kick-off another round of the same arguments)

I took it to mean he WILL be "homegrown", hence we can a) give him more of a chance than "foreign" signings, and b) he's worth more to other Premier League sides in future.

It's been a common theme and Spurs are evidently looking to sign players 19 and under in order for them to be this valuable. With our excellent development programmes, we also give them more chance of success (defined as a career rather than silverware) than other clubs.

Maybe not marquee but certainly smart work by Levy. I think we're really ahead of the curve on this one. e.g. Khumalo, Walker, Naughton and maybe Pedroza and Coulibaly.

Is that right?
I wasn't sure, but I thought that staus only applied whiole at the, er, Mother club:shrug:

That will certainly be a benefit in a few years.

I wonder what it means for the future of Harry Kane though? I guess it's a case of increasing our chances of at least one breakthrough striker. Kane, Pedroza and possibly Coulibaly or Leandro. Maybe Levy just wants to make sure we never struggle up front ever again.

That's kinda how I see it, too. Levy has been on a steep learning curve and I think he has made a few errors of judgement (like underestimating the difficulties of attracting a top striker). But I feel that whenever push has come to shove he has acted decisively. In this instance I really can't see him throwing away all his own hard-work to get us in this position, when he knows we need to upgrade the strikeforce. I think he will really put his hand on this and fix it for years to come.
I could be wrong.

Not much, but as it's quiet might as well post some small bits of info from Archie on SO.

On the fitness of Gareth Bale:
Lookin sharp in training

On POTL:
Someone stated they don't know why people doubt POTL. Archie replied:
me neither!
and
I dont know him mate! but i believe he gets it right

On Ceballos:
i believe joining academy but dont know what stage its at but here next week

On misc signings:
Contrary to belief it isn't easy to just sign a player when you want to sign them so to ridicule the management team and board for not delivering early is just so dull and particularly naive.

As other posts have alluded to on other threads we cant just easil pull off signings these day due to agents and huge money involved...

We WILL sign some quality but perhaps they might not train with our squad for long enough or miss the first 2 or 3 games

Also, isn't this Fourth_Official on twitter bit of a WUM? Not sure why everyone is acting like Hutton's already gone. I know it's been in the papers too but until one of the more respectable ITKs mention it, it could just be that; paper talk.
