Has anyone pointed out the capitals in POTL's post? Vucinic Developments Overnight. VDO. Any ideas or am I overthinking it? :shrug: seems like the kind of thing he'd do!

i think it's fairly clear we've bid for Vucinic and it's unlikely that is above £20m. Not sure how that fits in.

I'm not laughing it off, It is possible if you add up player sells if we manage to offload them, plus CL funds from last season, Your probably looking at around the £90 million mark.

It would be somewhat extraordinary though were it to actually happen and many here will be left gobsmacked.

Vucinic is much more a Levy type of deal. Negotiating something around the £15m mark but probably includes add ons. Maybe try and get Adebayor on loan with a view to buy. We could get Diarra on the cheap too and a cheap replacement for Bassong if he goes, but that would be less than £10m I would expect.

All in all I think we'll spend about £30-£35m max this window. Plus we'll make at least half that back in sales. We have a new Stadium to plan for which is why we've cut back on the spending since Harry arrived. We're not going crazy in this window.

Regardless of it being very un-Levy like, Redknapp has said before (and with the insane transfer policies of Liverpool, City and Chelsea) that we need to spend money to compete. It only makes sense that we're going to try and spend a lot (in this current market no less) to compete with them. Waiting for a cut price deal will not work, as we showed in January, and we paid for it.
