On COYS they are shitting themselves cos supposedly Vucinic has had to have a knee operation and this is why he isn't training, Funny as just yesterday he had a muscle problem.

That deal for Bojan seems very odd. Effectively Barca are paying Roma 1m euros to take him for a year?

Am I reading Jasper's ITK from last night correctly.

It seems to be saying that Adebayor will take a wage cut if somebody pays him what he will miss out on.

I should have tried that with my bosses at work.

So, he would take a pay cut as long as someone made his wages up so he wasn't taking a pay cut:shrug:

I'm sorry but I doubt very much that Redknapp would openly discuss transfers and player happiness with some fan who turns up at any sort of event/training/game.

Redknapp would give an interview to anyone about anything.
You could even stretch a sock over your fist and pretend it was a mike, and he'd be so eager he wouldn't notice the difference.
Seriously, try it:wink:

Just heard from a friend who works at the club.

There are 4 bids in for 4 players 3 at £20m and 1 for £35m the club is confident that all 4 deals will be done. All he would tell me was that ONE PLAYER IS UK BASED. He said I would be delighted if all goes through. he will pass more info when he has it.

:eek:mg::eek:mg::eek:mg:

I actually think the club would undertake that level of spend - we should get £30m+ from sales and we made £30m from the CL last year that leaves £35m as our spend..... not beyond the realms of possibility but trouble is its unlikely that all four bids would come off

I agree.
I really don't see why so many members are talking it down like it is totally implausible.
Several high profile figures within the club have stated that our transfer dealings will be a statement of intent.
Several ITKs have confirmed this.
We spent virtually nothing last Summer, even though Redknapp stated the money was there for big signings and we always have a specific transfer kitty
based on a percentage of income, which has been increasing.
Ditto January - and I, for one, just plain do not believe the conspiracy theory that it was a publicity stunt. As stated several times, I think Levy, in particular just underestimated what would be required to bring top strikers to the Lane.
We would aslo have a dedicated sum for transfers for this Summer, no matter what.
To which we can add CL money.
To which we can add the many outgoings that should net us a fair sum (on this alone, we will probably only be spending £35 - £45 million, net, depending on how much we get for our players (and Levy is an arch negotiator:wink:). I'm fairly certain Levy has backed that level of spending before.
We have more to sell than we need to buy, in terms of squad places, so, having money to spend, it is logical that we can sell a lot of less valuable players and buy a few more valuable players.

Levy is massively ambitious - I think a lot of Spurs fans just don't get this. His stated aim when he became Chairman was to make us competitive at the highest levels again, and return the club to transfers like the unveiling of Ardiles/Villa (a media circus I remember:grin:).

I'm not saying it will happen - but all this it's double the transfer record, we've never spent that much before is just extrapolation of the most pessimistic kind.

Is Vucinic injured.

I very much doubt it, It's just Roma BS to the media, Luis Enrique apparently said it but I'm not buying into it at all, I don't see how overnight a muscle injury can turn into a knee op.

So Harry has gone from needing to sell deadwood to raise some funds before buying, to sticking £95m worth of bids in? I somehow think not. I could understand if Modric was being sold and they knew how much they were receiving for him and therefore making enquiries, but nah, not believing it

Guess it gets him off the wage bill now and if he ends up having a good season they can get him back for a decent price and sell him for more.

I am sure another play was in a similar situation a year or so ago.

Oh I am not suggesting with my message that we won't or can't, I would just be surprised if we splashed 95Million on players.

I could easily believe that we would smash our transfer record though on a player or two, 16.5M (or whatever it actually is) is a pretty pithy amount in todays market, so anyone who doesn't believe we will go over that is not being realistic.

To get to the top you have to spend big.

Affellay would just be a loan wouldn't it? Would we still need to sell before we brought someone in on loan?

POTL just rubbished the "4 bids" ITK:
4 bids of 95m quid plus contracts.
