My bit was only in jest. :) Anyway I thought that the Goat's info mentioned about M&M but to disregard about the colour issue as it was just his personal preference.

In any case, Berbs does not fit "a young striker" profile.

Well, I'll just have to go back to the drawing board (and slam my head against it until I figure out something)

Doesn't say anything about young just say's here's the new guy: Doesn't even mention what position.

Sorry only read it on the phone last night so didn't read if there were further clues. You're probably right.

Wouldn't be surprised if City were just stringing us along in the hope of us missing out on other striker targets...

This really has turned horrible. Vucinic is all but done, yet he is flying to Manchester. We can't seem to work out even freebies really. Or we're being linked with Real or Bayern boys who won't come here. We have nobody scouting to 20-22 year old market which is what we can afford. It's either pipe-dreams or nightmares. And I'm sick of it. I don't know who's fucking this up, whether its twitchy and his inability to choose anything or its Levy, who want to run us via moneyball, but refuses to follow the principals that make it work.

I'm back to thinking they are both idiots for the moment. I'll give Bloomfield and Sherwood a pass from judgement, but everyone in management system is pissing me off.

We have less than three weeks until our first match against Everton and it truly does not appear that we will have a new starting striker by then. After Vucinic, there is a steep fall in the quality of forward that is available to us. Even someone like Gyan may be out of our reach, as Sunderland want big money for him.

I wonder if Levy would prefer to save face later in the window and sign someone like Odemwingie for an inflated fee, rather than not sign anyone and face the wrath of the supporters (though I suspect there are still a few fans out there who will give him a pass, even if we don't sign a striker this window).

Considering Pastore and Aguero are potentially set for moves to Chelsea and City this week, let's take a look at what the top 6 clubs in England will likely have done since January, transfer wise, by August 1st. I'm limiting this to mostly impact players and omitting youth who are unlikely to compete for playing time for the first team.

United: De Gea, Ashley Young, Phil Jones

Arsenal: Gervinho (They may still end up losing key players in Fabregas and Nasri, but will also likely spend heavily on others).

Chelsea: Torres, Luiz, Pastore (They are likely to sign one more player, on top of Pastore).

City: Dzeko, Aguero, Clichy (They will likely lose Tevez, but bring in another top player alongside Aguero.)

Liverpool: Suarez, Carroll, Henderson, Downing, Adam (They may add a left back, possibly Jose Enrique).

Spurs: Pienaar, Friedal (We still have to fend off a Modric transfer, but also have the additional headache of trying to shift deadwood to free up the wage bill. Still, we should bring in a signing or two before the window ends).

Young German striker - how about Andre Schurrle, 20 years old, plays for Mainz, scored 15 goals last season.

I cant quite believe that we would be that stupid that we are putting all all efforts into getting a player from City, surely we would have our fingers in a couple of pies (Note the 'quite' - it is Spurs after all nothing would surprise us!)
