I don't get you lot. 80% of you would have loved Huntelaar before he went to Madrid. He will work with VDV, we know this because...wait for it...he has already many times for Holland.

The bloke can use his head, and both feet and has experience in every major league in Europe and has always maintained a reasonable goal return. He's much harder to knock off the ball than Crouch, Pav and Defoe.

He's a far more realistic target for us than many of the ludicrous dream signings we keep bandying about.

I would certainly welcome him if he was to sign - if it was for about £15m or below. I just cant understand how his value has risen so drastically since his £10m move from Milan to Shalke. I do agree that he would suit our system though, but I think we could do better. If we were to sign him, and one of Llorente, Ade or Vucinic then that'd be great.

I can tell you Modric will not be sold this window, as reiterated previously it's now a matter of pride for Levy - he has a 6 year contract and will not be sold...Matter closed. So all this talk of Sturridge in part exchange is a non-starter. Btw Levy is not in England - working from abroad.

He's still an upgrade in my eyes and the understanding with VDV would definitely be a plus, a big plus actually...its the figures mentioned I have a hard time getting my head round.

To be honest, I don't care if we do pay through the nose for top players or have to break an imaginary "wage structure" to step up to the next level - and nor should any of us on here.

It's not our money, it's not our bank account, it's not our bottom line.

Personally I'd rather Levy squandered cash like a drunk aunt with an unlimited credit card than played silly buggers with everyone in Europe without succeeding in tying up a deal but managing to win the backing of a few SC posters who are concerned about club finances

Agree 100%. we just need upgrades on what we have!! fee sounds steep but he must have 3 or 4 years to run on his contract!! sound familiar??

Cockeral; my Peronsal opinion is that Modric will go. its just peronsal opinion but i can see Chelsea putting in a bid on c£40million. And with how predictions about the market are it might be the last time you recieve that offer. But it will not include sturridge. Chelsea also interested in a Dortmund defender; big money spent there too.

i dont know who POLT is but i would agree that Hutton is villa bound if he accepts contract; going to be offered 4 year deal, matching current wages. Jenas might get a bung depending how much he is on; shorter contract than hutton. Crouch strong possibilty.

That may be opinion - but mine is not based on opinion.

That will either be Subotic or Hummels then, either one would be an excellent signing unfortunately.

Though I do hope they were after their GK Focher, or defender Koch, you know, just for laughs

I did say I'd hope your sources were wrong regarding Huntelaar/Farfan etc.

But for these two, I hope they are bang on
