Adebayor isn't worth breaking the wage structure, at least not by much. He's a good forward. No more, and if it is him POTL would have well and truly wasted all our time being cryptic about a player 95% of the world knows we want to sign.

Pretty sure it was said the old B&Y would both smash our transfer record, I fail to see Adebayor moving for £17m+ tbfh.

More chance of me waking up to Kate Middleton nibbling on my ball sack than us signing eto'o. I'd be happy with adebayor with leandro in January.

... Adebayor to do the nibbling, in a tag performance with Leandro, but it's a bit of a while to wait, is it not? Eek

Firstly, who knows? It's certainly kept you all entertained.

Secondly, why does it matter. Take it all with a pinch of salt. It's really not worth getting all sandy in the vagina.

Re: the other bit - maybe we thought we could shift our deadwood, turns out we couldn't, and have decided to get our targets anyway. There are so many possibilities. Ultimately if we end up with our targets, what the fudge does it matter. There's no point going into "why oh why didn't we get things sorted sooner", because we haven't. I just don't understand that line of thinking. We didn't get things done sooner, it hasn't happened how we wanted it. As long as it ultimately happens, who gives one? Yes yes, pre-season this, bonding that, ideal world this, Van der Vaart didn't need one that.

It's immaterial. If we sign someone, can we just be a bit positive?

*expects more neg rep calling me "Hitler"*

My point (obviously not very well put) is that I think the player(s) that B&Y relates to has changed throughout the course of the window.

The timing of the signing is not an issue for me, letting players bed in isn't such a big deal at Spurs as it is with teams like Arsenal or Chelsea (historically anyway) as we're not an overly tactical team. I think a player can come in and play in our side quite easily.

Levy should be looking at getting Ab at knock down fee to offset any wages we need to pay.

Christ City want shot and not many in Europe can really afford his wages so come on Levy work ya magic and get him for next to nothing.

Ii don't quite see why we need to break our wage structure to sign him. Why can't we just offer him a big signing on fee to offset his wages, and force him to uphold his contract once he's signed.

Actually, to answer my own question, I suppose he could say no to the large signing on fee, but I can't think why it would be a significantly less attractive offer.

We can't afford to break this wage structure, especially not for Adebayor. All hell's going to break loose, Bale and co. are going to be wanting parity and then we're in trouble...

If we're going to break it for someone, make them worthwhile, like Llorente.

I think there was ITK a while ago saying Bale was getting a significant increase and I would imagine we will do the usual big sign on bonus if we sign some one on big wages to bring the long term impact down...

Where's the journalist today? would expect him to know something if something big is happening... If he discredited the Adebayor thing he might know of it being some one else?

Ohhhhhhh them poxy ITK's, got me all excited again!

Adebayor would be a great signing, as long as he isnt the only one. Even if he is he would be a great improvement on what we have.

Plus he hates the goons and they hate him.

Imagine how pissed off those tarts will be when he scores the winner at their places and kisses the Spurs badge.

Also, thought Blue was related to a loan in one of POTL's earlier posts? Surely that guarentees is Ade??

We might be buying Samba to play up top though.....

Adebayor on loan, Leandro in January and Brad Friedel on a free after all this noise about us making a statement, pushing the boat out, having a serious go at trying to get back in the Champions League, and showing Modric and Bale we mean business. Sigh.

Someone in the media might even get a scoop about one of our biggest tranasfer coups ever:grin:

Some want Samba, some don't.

It depends if Jacobs info has anything to do with POTL's then, because there isnt a cats chance in hell that we would smash our wage structure for Samba.
