My guess is we're pushing hard for the Adebayor deal this week. If it doesn't look like it will happen then we'll try for Llorente on Saturday. I can't see us getting both, they're very similar players.

I'm not a fan of the vague and tenuous hints that get called 'cryptics' but I can understand that some enjoy them and they have their place if delicate negotiations are ongoing for the likes of Eto'o, Falcao or even at a push Llorente but frankly if the answer turns out to be something average and obvious like Adebayor, Samba or Parker that's been in every crap tabloid and fan forum since the window opened, then that would indicate the ITK was just a deeply sad attention seeking loser.

So i'm going to give POTL the benefit of the doubt and assume "Blue" isn't Adebayor.

I think your expectations are in a serious need of a reality check.

Don't want Kaka. Don't need this type of signing now. We have VDV for that role.

Not that it would happen in a million years, but if we had any chance to sign Kaka, I'd want us to go for him. It's frankly absurd that you wouldn't want him, considering his talent, his fame, and his inevitable ability to help us attract more of the players we want.

Obviously never going to happen though.

I'm hoping the club realise that it would be an awfully good idea to get someone in before Saturday, before enough to give them a little run out ahead of the Everton game.

Ergo - TODAY

The season we beat the scum 5 - 1, Adebayor was absolutely tremendous, world class in fact and he ripped teams apart and scored loads. Then it went to his head, he wanted out of Arsenal and he's never quite hit the same heights - the closet he's got is at Madrid and I think the Togo shooting incident has brought him back down to earth a bit. If he stays fit and gets close to that season for the Arse then we are potential title challengers - and I think he has summink to prove.

Just to clarify IF POTL is not a wind up merchant (and he isn't) then we are in talks with Ade without doubt - no ifs no buts, he is at the negotiating table. Taking every tit bit over the last couple of days (and I read it all remember) there is no doubt that we are discussions as we speak - doesn't mean he'll sign though....

SHHHH dont jinx it mate

Agree entirely Steve - a potentially tremendous signing, and he's just entering his peak...and with that added bit of maturity.

I can't see us signing both Ade and Llorente, admittedly I haven't seen much of Llorente but aren't they of a pretty similar mold?

VDV is not going to stay fit all season long! Imagine having the option of rotating Kaka and VDV!! So I say yes please (If at all possible).

I'm not saying that I expect an Eto'o or a Falcao, just rather if it did turn out to be Adebayor what is the justification for an obscure cryptic clue when every tabloid has already identified him as a target and even Harry has commented on the speculation?

No one is doubting that Kaka would be a massive coup for the club and would generate huge interest but i'm afraid as far as what he can bring on the footballing front then I'm definately in the 'pass' camp.

I can't remember who posted it but you have a look at the picture of him recently on holiday and you tell me you'd think he would perform well for a Champions League chasing side, not to mention his 'erratic' form for Madrid for the past couple of years.

Why are people complaining that were interested in similar players or similar to what we have? At the end of the day we struggled last season due to the lack of real quality on the bench. Don't gets wrong there were good players sitting on the sideline but there wasn't actuall any real game changers. Thats why Harry struggled to rotate the unhappy players because they didn't have that cutting edge in the last 15 minutes of a game to get a win.

Kaka reminds me of the excitement of Juninho for the Boro fans. I use to love watching this guy play. He would do wonders at Spurs.
He would definately convince Modric to stay.
He can also replace Modric!

I know what you mean and I explained this a couple of pages back. POTL started the B&Y back in early June and when Harry confirmed our interest officially he actually (my interpretation) put B&Y at the end of one his posts when he discussed Adebayor by name, one could assume that he was subtly saying that Adebayor was part of this....he likes to be a bit clever sometimes  - but I have no doubt this is what he meant.
