Tbh I think we will do our best to get Adebayor on loan and if that doesn't happen we will stick with what we have

All our targets are being ticked of the list, Llorente is a no according to peanut, Rossi is staying where he is, Vucinic went to Juve, Benzema staying at Real...there is nobody left but Adebayor.

True enough.

So... Peter Odemwingie it is then?! Or Gyan?

My favorite thing from this glut of ITK is that despite 100 different ITK's coming out of the woodwork to tell us Adebayor or Llorente or Falcao, we have one saying that everything has went quiet at the club (in a good way). Has it? It seems to me that anybody and everybody at the club has been so busy calling mates and mates of mates to tell them something is up, that we don't have enough people doing work to actually process a transfer.

My source is simply saying that normally his contacts at the club (coaching and board level) are normally Ok with low level activity talk and general stuff, but no one is saying anything at the moment, which points to something bigger happening. He is NOT saying something is definitely happening.

Along with the barrel load of salt people need to add a whole load of common sense to the equation and stop playing Football manager. Talks and discussions are taking place over both outs and ins, most of which will be complicated as Stoof as pointed out, Levy and co are in this for the long haul, not to satisfy our day to day needs as supporters to get some transfer fix.

Track record or not, I wouldn't trust one ITK any more than the rest. Chances are there wasn't going to be any real action till next week anyway, I could have told you that.

Sid Lowe on Talksport saying Diarra to Tottenham is quite likely but wages are the problem right now, Madrid may have to make up some of the wages he will lose.

I swear if I read wages are a problem one more time im going to explode. Surely it's easy to figure out if we can afford a players wages or not and if we can't move on and look at more realistic targets

People, please read the blue bit. Then read it again.

I'm glad Peanut came out and confirmed what many of us already knew in regards to Llorente. That transfer is just way too complicated for any club, let alone us, to pull off at the 11th hour.

As for Adebayor, he'd be a top-shelf signing on loan for us. The problem is, surely City would know this, too, and be hesitant to deal with us. If Levy gets the sense they are jerking him around, I hope he doesn't hesitate to pull out of negotiations and go after someone else.

The more I think about it, the more I think we should try to land Gyan and see if we can get him for 17 million or so. I think he's significantly better than what we have, and would hit the ground running on day 1. Maybe 10 million + Defoe would interest Bruce. That would be pretty good business for both sides, and I'm fairly confident we could turn his head.

As for strikers outside of England, I think Pappiss Cisse would be the best calculated risk we could take on a player. It seems he doesn't want to leave Freiburg now, but he would be a worthwhile gamble in my opinion.

I never expected a signing today. The best news is that things seem to be progressing with Adebayor - thats massive news IMO.

I don't see how anybody would be in a position to determine when that will complete, if it completes, give the likely complexity of the deal.

If he's here by this time next week I will be truly delighted.

I think we should forget about signings and just focus on developing our own players in the future, We can't attract the top players due to the big wage issues that Man City have made 10 times worse, so look to your own ranks to produce future players, Use that transfer money and put it into youth development, the very best of everything, coaches, facilities etc.

Peanut (COYS) on whether we are likely to sign someone before the Everton game...

Hopefully! I'd expect something will happen in the next week.

Shame that he has also said that the Llorente thing is a non-starter. Gotta be honest, Peanut is pretty much top of the pile in terms of info, even above POTL & Archie IMO (though they are top notch too)

You're doing it again

If Madrid dont see Adebayor as a top target, and I dont think they do otherwise they would of moved for him by now, City are pretty much out of options - and they're obviously not against the idea of thrashing out a deal on the basis or recent ITK.

Adebayor is a different class to Gyan.

This is ridiculous!

Surely the club must do some research on players before going in for them?

If that is the way we do business it is incredibly naive and stupid.

We seem to do it a lot though, spend all summer going after a couple of players and then them not work out due to wages or the player not wanting to come.

Dont fucking go for them if we cant afford them! :bang:

Not so much :roll::roll: If anybody offer them Crouch + 5million as atleast we know Defoe on form will get 15 goals a season Crouch on the other hand 8 - 10 goals we need to keep an out and out striker incase nothing else comes to fruition if Pav got injured or Harry keeps using him as a 10 min man and Defoe was to go that would leave us with no real striker....
