To be honest, everybody guessing for months on end as to what cryptics could mean, and coming up with the same answers 1000 times over, is a trifle tiresome, but someone just suggested to me that 'storm coming' could be Edin Hazard. Hadn't seen anyone suggest him for this particular cryptic, so thought I'd throw it back out there........

I'm not sure why anyone's expecting any signings. Period. Full stop. Surely we've learned from past windows?! Do not get excited!

We never learn .

I'd sooner we get in a 2nd tier striker who would fit with the shape of our team than an 'A' lister who we have to crowbar in. There are plenty who are a big improvement on what we have and won't break our wage structure. If we sell Defoe and Keane and get in someone like Gilardino with Leandro to follow in January (& use Kane and Coulibaly in the Wafer Cup) i'd say Levy has done a very good job this window.

I think that would be enough to give us a realistic chance of CL qualification and as this is probably Harry's last season with us gives the incoming manager a decent war chest to buy the players he wants and push on to the next level.

I really don't want a short term glamour signing like Kaka which would be a huge gamble and a distraction. Just get in a proven striker who fits into the team shape and concentrate 100% on CL qualification and we will be a much more attractive proposition for big name signings next season.

What the hell is wrong with people?

Has Peanut said that Adebayor is a no goer? No he hasn't, all he has said is that he's hopeful something will happen within the next week regarding in comings...thats good news.

Its like people see ITK and think something is going to happen within the hour.

I reckon the Adebayor situation is the same as what happened in Jan! We probably have a deal in place to take him, but both him and Man City would rather sort a deal with Madrid so are waiting till the last minute to see if they go for it before they sanction a deal to us. Be a whole lot easier if Madrid just came out and said 'we wont be signing Adebayor'.

This is ridiculous!

Surely the club must do some research on players before going in for them?

If that is the way we do business it is incredibly naive and stupid.

We seem to do it a lot though, spend all summer going after a couple of players and then them not work out due to wages or the player not wanting to come.

Dont fucking go for them if we cant afford them! :bang:

And you don't think that there might just be a chance that Levy is trying to get the best deal for the club? Levy probably knows that he can pay the wages Diarra wants but why would he offer that straight away if there is the chance that Madrid will subsidise as, i understand, they did with VdV.

The way people take the word of someone like Sid Lowe at face value still shocks me.

If the Journo is right, Levy really needs to accept the offer and get things going. Just under 10m for Keane and Hutton is a good deal for us.

I think you're exactly right. I also think Real wont get their target and it will happen again.

Hutton and Keane personal terms done.
I’m told it’s all done Villa’s end if Daniel Levy accepts.
NO negotiating anymore; take it or leave it. Decent price of just under £10m.

Contract offer for Jenas’s with agent. tottenham and jenas have an option.

Diarra told again was also done, delayed by Tottenham.

It’s all in Tottenhams hands.
To be honest, unless Levy wants to wait hoping for better offers, I don’t know why the hold up. Nor do I know why they are waiting on Diarra.

I’ve read “Grey Fox” update “Gone Quiet”
I agree, it’s extremely quiet. Frustratingly quiet

Update from my end re adebayor

Spurs have been back in to make further enquiries very recently, but very very long way to go and a lot of varying factors need to fall into place before this is a goer, including Real Madrid cutting of their interest as this is ultimatley where he wants to play and is hoping that something could happen by the end of the window

Cheers for the info Journo

Little bit concerned though, am I reading it correctly or are you saying we have offered a new contract to Jenas?

If so, Spurs... :bang: :bang: :bang:

Ojay on COYS regarding Adebayor :

He is having a medical right now, he has been our number one target all summer for the number 9 position. Fact.

When I cleverly countered this statement with "O RLY", he responded :

just heard this from a very reliable football agent

O RLY.

Anyone got the feeling Levy is going to take too long here and the deals will collapse?

Homegrown necessity, but we have seen Livermore doing well. If we are hanging on Jenas and including Livermore, this means a few things.

1st. We will sell palacios
2. Diarra might come in
3. We will sell an homegrown forward.

I can see the logic here, don't you ?
