Dragon 1 saying Adebayor won't drop wage demands lower than £180K a week.

That's that dead then.

Does any club do deadline day better than us? I can't think of any. It might go to the wire again this year, but I expect a big name striker to arrive.

I hope your right about a back up plan if the biggies fail to come off! Lads like Sow and cisse would be worth a punt. Hernandez and the likes, Still think if squad amounts allow we should take a punt on 1 of these type of players. The next big thing is just around the corner. Take cavani for instance, he looked woeful in the world cup. Didnt play much i dont think but the boy is a super striker now worth 30m.

That's what worries me about the running of our club at the moment, we all saw 3 Uraguayan strikers at the WC and we seemed to chase Forlan all year with Harry gushing about him when his wages were out of reach. The other two got sold and look like successes, I doubt their wages were too much for us plus Levy would've had his sell on value. I worry we're doing the same now with Adebayor and Llorente.

Find that hard to believe. If it's true he'll be stuck at City for a while with those demands.

The SSN reporter who draws Spurs out the hat to cover knows for sure he's got some airtime guaranteed. I bet they see Spurs as the Man Utd of Last Day of the Window.

Is she female?

Anyway, that's what we should have all expected. Why should he cut his wages, when he's going to collect them and City will be forced to loan him out at the end of the window. He's in the drivers seat. Just like Keane with us. Human nature will always trump fantasies.

Once again 19-24 from smaller teams is the way to go. Should be wrapping up Shiquiri* rather than dealing with Adebayor.

*I realize Shiquiri isn't at striker just that he's 8 million pounds and on potentially a replacement for and of our attacking mids if things don't pan out. Another rule, always have a replacement before you sell.

Plenty of itk have said stuff on the contrary to that

Like who? Peanut said Adebayor wasn't happening because of wages, Ben's said it wasn't happening. Potl has said we were after Adebayor but wages were an issue...who else reliable is there? Archie's said nothing on Adebayor I don't think.

Shiqiri instead of Mata but Cisse/Toivonan/Derdiyok types instead of Ade

How is he stuck? His contract isn't pay for play? And he knows that City are way over limit, so they will likely just loan him out again at the wages he's on.

Ade won't get £180k ANYWHERE else

City need to subsidize his wages or pay up his contract.

I mean £180k, laughable by the Arabs

Problem is we've got 1 season to get back in the CL or Bale, VDV and Modric are all off next summer and we're back to midtable.

We need players for now.

Well i say that because Shiquri is significantly cheaper than Mata and Mata seems uninterested in us. But either would fit the rules of age.

Not at the detriment of our long term future.

Anything can happen. The Russian or Arabs can leave at any time of their choosing and these clubs could cease. They could even close them if the wished.

That seems a long shot.

Surely that's rubbish! No other club that would realistically want him would pay him that and I include Madrid in that, especially as he will be 3rd choice striker there! He has no choices but take a wage cut unless its a loan and city pay the difference.
