Told you all not to get carried away with the Diarra ITK. As I said, I doubt he will sign for us, unless RM lower the price tag.

Did you not say you had never any info on Diarra...thats slightly different isn't it?

DL wants 14m for bentley.

Go figure. All this talk of Rossi is nonsense, he wants a bargain,

It's not a plus point though is it? you don't need ITK to have empathy with a point of view. If i were brittish and had an option to move to paris but around the time i had a decison to make, there were riots in Paris, it would have a barring.

Don't pile into folks who think about stuff.

No, but mentioning it in the ITK thread aint so clever. if i want to read about the riots, i'll do it elsewhere.

The spamming on this forum in the last couple of days has been a joke and selfish for those of us who have to trawl through on phones.

Back ON TOPIC, interesting that even Dragon1 hasn't been able to get the id of the three deals that are lined up. Suggests a big amount of secrecy. hope these deals aren't jeopardised by Levy's timing. Clubs/players tend to get pissed off having deals done but then the buying party not following through.

If the ITK and news reports are to be believed (and it's a big if) then DL needs to get his head out of his ass and realise that the only way the club is going to continue to challenge is to address the deficiencies that it has even if that means spending a bit more than he hoped.

All this financial brinkmanship is a joke. If we'd splashed out an extra few million to get a decent striker in the last two windows I'm almost positive we'd be back in the CL this season (which would more than cover the inflated outlay on the striker).

What is it now, 3 or 4 windows and no remedy to the striker situation. Becoming a bit of a joke.

I would say the wide spread of opinions and info coming from the various sources, POTL, Peanut, Dragon etc that we consider gospel would mean someone is getting fed rubbish and missleading info at the moment... Wouldn't surprise me if the club are aware and doing all they can to throw people off the sent...

That tactic has backfired the last couple of transfer windows, which prompted the 'lessons have been learned' ITK. I hope you're right and up until a few days ago I was also confident we'd have someone in place by the end of the window.

But as each day passes, the spectre of failures past looms larger and larger and it would be nice if on deadline day, just for a change, we weren't treated to that sight of that smug cocknocker Jim White on SSN saying "20 minutes to go, Spurs fans don't go anywhere"

I couldn't have said it better myself. Absolutely 100% agree....

This window is headed in the same direction as the last.

There's talk of a bid for Rossi, but why would Villarreal sell a couple of weeks before their season starts? They'd have no time to buy replacements.

Same thing would apply for many other decent-sized clubs who don't need to sell players.

My contact has given me contact on EVERY player we've bid on/been in talks with, he's given nothing on Diarra, which means we haven't progressed with our "interest"

Levy is proving to be a hindrance to this football club. All of you have allowed the fact that he made a quick buck for Berbatov and Carrick cloud your judgement.

Going back to sleep now. Wake me when we sign someone.

Thanks for sharing, however if POTL and peanut have both said we have been bidding/have a deal in place for Diarra then we are likely have already bid for him as those guys both have good links to the club

This whole thing smacks of indecisiveness, and basically poor preparation and planning.

We are not being run as a football club, where we identify clear targets/options to improve us, a budget we are willing to pay for them and then go out and buy them. We are instead willing to take whoever we may get at the end of the window because they are cheap/available.

This feels more akin to Del Boy & Rodney than a football club with top 4 aspirations.

The need for brinkmanship, rather than pay "over the odds" for a player has seen us fall out of the top 4 and is likely to see us struggle to compete at that level again.

Even the issue about shifting dead wood is all financial. If we wanted to cancel contracts or pay players off, we could.

I'm just too frustrated with the situation.

End of rant!

Mate, you're right. I've been saying the same thing. There comes a time when the club needs to take a risk if we want to move to the next level...

You've based this opinion on second hand information that is contradicted by other second hand info, for all we know Levy is prepared to pay Ade's wages and Ade is stalling ... or prepared to pay for Rossi and he is stalling?

This is the same guy that has brought our club from mediocre 8,9 10th or worse place finishes up the Champions League and being dissapointed with Europa League...

If you look at the number one ITK's info we are close to signing Diarra and have some other big deals lined up...

Both things they said in the last two windows, too...

Levy really holds us back big time with his pursuit of getting the cheapest possible deal.

some say its great business YES when it works but 90% of the time it doesn't and it ends up costing us targets and pissing off other clubs and souring relations.

Just out of interest, can you show me this 90% that went awry and the 10% that didn't.

Levy, to be fair, is in a tough position. He's back our spending admirably since he came, far more than our league finishes would of justified. Now we are left with the consequences - players bought in good faith like Bentley & Gio who just didn't perform. Need to shift these first..................(especially Bentley!!)

Have you ever thought your contact might be wrong or not be privvy to that information?

I suppose we will find out for sure in the nest few days.
