Sergio Aguero = "average player"?!?!? :duh: You realise that we are talking about football here? Not rugby or cricket, right?

I meant in the last few years, should have made that clearer - of course, unless you think Barry, Santa Cruz and Lescott are worth 54m comined.

hulk is shit

ginger pele with a fancy name

Ginger Pele was a legend, remember those goals he scored against Sunderland! I reckon he scored almost as many that season as Crouch and Deofe did between them last season!

Worth it.
In the current market, I'd agree. If Carroll cost £35million and Henderson and Downing £20m a piece, then we're working in an inflated market. He's a current Spain international and young enough for his value not to dwindle rapidly. However, whether we've adjusted to the current market remains to be seen. I think we may well be waiting for opportunistic loan deals to come up instead.
If Levy could get Parker and Adebayor in for a season loan for nothing as oppsosed to spending the best part of 50 million on Diarra and Llorente, I'm sure he'd have a bonk on for the best part of September.

does mystery's latest ITK say we arent signing hulk? because it seemed pretty sure to me and yet the merits of him signing are being discussed. He would be mega expensive when falcao is the one for us

His technique concerns me, but in some games he's been unstoppable.

Who cares what position he usually plays? He has the physical attributes, scores goals and grabs a fair few assists too. Henry wasn't a striker when he arrived in England either and it worked OK for him changing position slightly because he had everything needed to succeed as a striker in the Premiership.

I doubt Hulk is anywhere near as good as Henry technically and his first touch is a little suspect but he certainly knows where the net is and is a human battering ram.

Hulk probably isn't anywhere near as good as Ronnie Henry of Stevenage FC technically. He's got a lot of power, but he's a poor footballer.

Llorente's buyout clause is 36m euros, so i suppose Bilbao would ask for that amount so that the fans dont get on their back for selling him (31.5m pounds).
The thing is Bilbao wont sell in the last minute of transfer windows so if we want this done it has to be now. He IS worth it and could be a world class striker in England wich adapts even better to his game than in Spain.

Hulk looks imposible to me, no chance. It would be awesome to have Llorente, hulk and vdv in a forward three, but dont think this would happen.

Even the power issue is relative. He's relatively powerful in Portugal. He'd be avaerage in the PL. Remember the last BEAST to come to the PL?

Baptista was a pussy cat up agsint PL center backs and midfield enforcers.

You must be thinking of someone else. Hulk has never played as a lone striker, or in any kind of back to goal, hold up role. He's wide forward in a 433. Perhaps he could play as a winger in a 442 although I wouldn't be convinced about his tracking back.

Anyway there's no chance of us getting him so it's all immaterial.

Of course not. He said "loan" striker. Maybe on a loan to us.

this is exactly where a quick look on you tube will be helpful. It may not provide a good overall picture of a player but a quick look will show you technique is something hulk does not lack. Sounds as tho you are passing off opinion and assumption as fact.

He has an unbelievable goal scoring record and a good rate of assists but I have never been over awed by him, shoots from anywhere, always wants free kicks and then blasts them into the top tier and tends to not give the easy pass.
