the only thing i dont get is that Harry has publicly stated he wants Rossi and Adebayor but never stated he wanted Llorente - thats come solely from the ITKs. Maybe it was Levy who wanted Llorente the whole time and Harry wanted Adebayor the whole time- eventually it seems like Levy is the one to back down. I dont see anything concrete to prove that Harry changed his mind on Llorente

Fair point, and by all accounts Adebayor and Rossi are our top two targets, I believe that's what POTL is saying with B&Y, and are at present availabile in some sort of capacity.

Add to that Harry has spoken about them publicly and what do you have?

Maybe the truth

What a love and hate evening. adebayor, keano, dl, harry....
I think DL should not listen to any manager, have polls on SC and whoever gets first we sign. In this window id think Rossi would be the winner, so DL go for him now!!

Regarding Rossi's buyout clause

Spanish buyout clauses only apply to teams in Spain. When we activated the buyout clause for Sergio Aguero, Atletico Madrid rejected it, Aguero then has to buy out his contract if he wanted to join Tottenham.

Rossi's buyout clause might be £35mill but then for him to leave to an English team, The fee would be larger as he would have to buy out his contract and it would possibly be around £9mill extra. We probably have to give the money to these players so that's why the £44mill is being banded about.

....Never thought I'd say this but I'm starting to miss having a director of football. The last 3 transfers windows have been utter farces.

I still can't image why city would help us strengthen our strikeforce whilst paying to the tune of 5m for the pleasure. It's not as though they need the money.

...really its because they dont want to be wasting money on a player who wont even be included in their 25 man squad, they're still a business at the end of the day even if they have practically unlimited resources.

That may be so.
And if we get two strikers in, they both have to be able to compliment VDV as well as one another so that we have 3 choices of partnerships, to cover for injuries, suspensions, loss of form, and tactical changes.
The problem comes if we want to play these two as a front two, while playing VDV (who wouldn't take too well to bench time, IMHO).
If we played 4-5-1, one (or both, of on rota) would have to accept bench time. If we play all three, the only viable option would be to play VDV on the right...and, IMHO, that dog just don't hunt too good.

Wouldn't be against the idea of getting both of these in, but Rossi would be prime candidate for bench time, unless we moved VDV out right, or benched him - either of which would be a mistake AFAIC. Don't think Rossi would be too happy about that, and don't think Levy would, either.

The only other option I could see would be playing 4-3-3, which would suit VDV, but not a good option in my book.

Even though VDV is a quality player he seems to cause us massive headaches tactically.

If he is fit he appears to be a certain starter so the whole team selection and tactics revolve around him.

Just hope that with ade playing up top with him gives us the right balance and if we get rossi aswell Idont know what the fuck will happen but both signings would give us a lift.

I only wish Dragon1 would not fill all of his posts with opinion, its hard to say what he actually knows and what is opinion.

Either way. Out of Rossi, Llorente and Suarez. Ade is probably the best option in terms of style.

Wow someone with sense

As unnerving as it all may seem, there is clearly 2 sets of propaganda campaigns in full swing

So levy and 'Arry seem to be as bad as each other...

Its a relationship which clearly isn't going to work for much longer if ITK is anything to go by.

I just hope its not to the extent of totally ruining this window and upcoming season.

Most of these the ITK is opinion at the moment ... All the talk of Harry this and Levy that is ... Wish they would just say we are bidding for... or we have received an offer for ... would save a lot of debate...
