I think we should assume that a team resembling last nights will be playing against United, then if anything happens in the next three hours we'll be pleasantly surprised.

As I've said all along deals aren't 'done' until they're announced and the fact that they hadn't been announced means that Archie's info isn't entirely surprising.

Not really  has his source been verified by the mods?

I just refuse to believe we had a press conference arranged and then it was cancelled 75%.

Anyway Archie's info sounds extremely plausibile and yet still positive.

To be fair i was told they were arranging a press conference today for 11am by my source then he called me bk and said someone in the press office said that had all been put on hold coz the deal hit a snag wit the paper work? So obviously it wasnt cancelled it was just never all in place they were settin it all up then the deal hit a snag so thats why the press wernt informed? Im only tellin you the info i got guys didnt wana cause confusion or bad vibes. And im gettin verified as we speak :) and for the percentages thing my bad i only wrote what he told me maybe should of just said but there is still a small chance deal could be done by 11am and new press conference set up! sorry my bad.

Harry is generally quite non-committal when it comes to potential transfers so for him to say it's progressing well I would like to say we are very close to agreeing terms and it would certainly be in City's interest to push this deal through for Ade to have any chance against United.

Why am I the only one that thinks that we'll be disappointed today.

I can see the Ade/Lass deals dragging on into next week.

City should be eager to make Ade eligible to win the game against United.

Question: If indeed these deals were done yesterday (although contradicted by Archie) would an announcement need to be made to the stock exchange first? And is that the case for all signings?

Ok i know that's two questions Eek

No they don't - just at somepoint afterwards (next working day or whatever).

And only deals over 10% of turnover (so c.£12m) have to be announced to the SE at all - so Diarra will probably have to and Adebayor definitely won't.

Our SE page is here btw: http://www.londonstockexchange.com/...summary.html?fourWayKey=GB0008962986GBGBXAIMI

Im speakin to my source at the club at about 10am :) will post if there is any news on adebayor or diarra :) And was told the medicals for loan signings are slightly differnt to normal and alot quicker if the club want them to be so deal/deals could be done by 12 in time for utd but even if they are both players hvnt had a pre season so will both prob start on the bench.....

Nearly all loan signings, even if there is fee don't tend to have Medicaid

But maybe because of us paying £2m (supposedly) and half a large wage we may run a basic one

Not just him but Bond seems fairly confident too...from 5 Live this morning:
Tottenham's assistant manager Kevin Bond tells BBC Radio 5 live that Luka Modric is not for sale and could be fit for Monday's trip to Manchester United. He also says he expects striker Emmanuel Adebayor to join the club and replace Robbie Keane. "It seems like that's more than speculation," Bond said. "From what I can gather I think we're trying to do the deal. It looks like he's [Adebayor] going to come in and replace Robbie Keane, and it would strengthen our squad if it's able to be done."

You'd have thought.

Although If I were to guess, I'd say that it's probably not City delaying the deal, but some sort of formatting of the paper work.

Basically I'm guessing.

If anything it won't be the player, agent or clubs.

Be It the FA or EPL.

The rules state that it is 12 noon the working day before the game is scheduled to play.

Whether that means today or Monday though, that's open to interpretation.
Just to add to the clarification:

"“Working Day”
means any day on which the League office is open for normal business
but excluding, unless the Board determines otherwise, a Saturday, a Sunday or a Bank or

Public Holiday;"

So, almost certainly 12 noon today, but as usual "the board" can be "persuaded" (but probably only if Sky agree!).

Don't think anyone is getting hot under the collar, we all seem perfectly cool and calm to me. Everyone knows good things come to those that wait.

Tbh that was the info i gave in my ITK last nite :) It was a paper work problem with the league and how the deal was structured.

Did Kev not get the 'I've got no idea, the chairman deals with it, I don't know' memo then.

Yeah makes sense fella. Normally the way, two lads I know who were loaned couldn't believe they never had one.

Saying that we bought VdV 'Subject to Medical'

Makes a mockery of the FA/EPL if they are the ones at fault here...especially when they are more than happy for mercenaries like to move around when they are part owned by every bastard under the sun.

Joke!
