I said before the game yesterday that Harry's lost the plot if he goes back to 4-4-2 again. The guy is mental. We don't have the strikers to play 4-4-2, only Adebayor pressures defenders with any conviction and is capable of picking the ball up and holding it up. Defoe and Saha don't get involved enough and don't defend from the front. Then you have the problem of the two in the middle. With two out and out strikers we have to drop Modric or move him wide (clearly not a good idea) as Modric and on of Parker/Sandro/Livermore is too weak and too open (we've all known it for weeks, months even, Redknapp still doesn't seem to get it though). 4-4-1-1 works because Rafa will drop deep, it's still not as solid as the 4-3-3 but it's not suicide. I despair at Redknapp. I defended him last year, but this is even worse. He bigged us up for the title, then top London team and third, now we'll be lucky to finish in the top 4. Has he held his hands up and accepted any responsibility for what's gone on? Has he given the team a rocket for collapsing at Arsenal and the poor performances since? He just makes excuses, it's never our fault, he never accepts responsibility or challenges the players.

I take it you have seen Harry's BBC interview? @ http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17655183

Hear what he has to say between 10-40 seconds. Very worrying.

What pees me off is his constant bigging up of the opposition, 'they were this, they were that....blah blah'!!.........IT WAS FUCKING NORWICH FFS

I've been a great defender of Harry when he's received unwarranted criticism from all sides, but there really isn't any logical reason for him to have gone to 4-4-2 yesterday. It was a complete balls up and one that he did very little to rectify once it was apparent that it was a balls up.

If we don't get top 4 then the blame will be squarely at his door as he should have seen the upturn in performance in recent games based on the 4-3-3 (or whatever name you give it). He's been suckered in by that one Newcastle performance (where to be fair they got their tactics spectacularly wrong) and won't let go of 4-4-2 even in the face of the evidence that it's a very fragile formation.

That is embarrassing.
"Norwich are very good...you can't underestimate anyone in this division, even though I clearly underestimated them by the team and formation I sent out...other people said we should play 4-4-2...so I did it...even though I could see it was going wrong I didn't rectify the situation." <INSERT LOONY EMOTICON FROM OLD SITE>.

As said on MR thread, where BC quotes the other people said we looked good in a 4-4-2 so I played it - he must be getting ready for the England job where the journos can pick the team and formation for him

He said 4-4-2 was a bad idea, we played 4 forwards and our 2 striker's (Defoe & Saha) are shit.

Plus we had one of those 'bad days' .... guess we've had 7 in the last 8 then Redknapp?

Bloody useless, Swansea are safe, get Rodgers in NOW!!!!!

What does he say for us who cant listen at work?
He says people say we play better playing 4-4-2 but he doesn't think so, we're too open, don't have players to play it as they don't get back into position enough. Basically saying yeah, the formation was wrong, and I knew it was wrong before we played, but some other guys said play it, so it isn't my fault.

I simply think Harry wanted to rotate the squad and thought we had good enough players to beat Norwich in a 4-4-2. Kind of the same attitude he has in some cup matches. Where he just cobbles a team together and expects them to win with what seems like no tactical instructions.

Agreed.

Since that win we have tried 4-4-2 four times and have been beaten four times. It's also worth remembering that when we beat Newcastle 5-0 they were missing their best two midfielders in Cabaye and Tiote.

Unbelievable. He's the manager FFS!

I don't know which 'people' he's talking about but he shouldn't be listening to any of them if he's the manager. Maybe he's talking about the obsession in the press with us having 'width' but even that doesn't explain the 4-4-2.

You are the manager Harry. You make the decisions. Get back to the setup that you yourself said worked well not more than 1 week ago and stop pandering to the press/fans/FA.

I know, it's unbelievable isn't it?

My favourite bit is around 27 seconds in, classic Harry blame shift.

If that is correct in what he said, then the man is clearly losing the plot. Who are they? Bloody hell, the majority oni here can see that 433, 4321 works much better than 442!! Harry, if you didn't think it would work, why do it? You are the manager for crying out loud.

At this rate, England won't want him and He may well be sacked by us at the end of the season if we fail to finish in the top 4!!!

OK now Harry,

Start with 4-4-2 if you must and people have told you to (one wonders if it was the bloke at the petrol station where H fills up his car who told him this, or someone of equal importance.)

Why oh why, when you saw that it was not working did you do absolutely nothing to counteract it. Do you think it's fun to watch us fans squirm or watch this good group of players at Spurs run around like headless chickens?

Is it because you are off to bigger and better things with England ? and no longer give a rat's arse about our Club. Or is it because it is your intention to leave us as you found us with 2 points from 8 games..............

Rant over

Who told him to take Livermore off and bring on Rafa? Because surely if you can see that 4-4-2 isn't working with one player who's at least capable of breaking up the play and is too open, surely a central midfield of Luka and Rafa is only going to be worse?

The reason I'm starting to get worried is that we're not showing much heart at the moment and Harry's forte is meant to be motivation. If we can forget tactics and are now relying solely on those motivational instructions then we're up shit creek.

I'm all for leadership on the pitch, where Parker 'is a leader' and Nelsen 'is a great man to inspire other players', but I think it's time those qualities started being shown by Harry himself and not expect others to do that for him.

I personally think it's time for my hero Levy to swoop into the dressing room and remind everyone what they are doing here and give them a fucking rocket up the arse.

It's just so disheartening to come so far and now be hanging in the balance again. From the on-from, title chasing, best football in the land to dogshit when it really matters.

1) Sometimes we do (equaliser against Stoke), sometimes we don't - that is even more worrying. in a peculiar way.

2) I agree.

3) Seemigly, someone needs to.

4) Too true.
