there is a real dirt of class top creative central midfield players out there but knowing you will have 30 million quid in your back pocket helps. personally i would sign m' villa and take gamble on couple of brazilian lads we were linked with in ganso and casseirmo was it? even put a 30 million whack on that moura silva lad wouldnt be bad idea even though probably wont come.

we had scouts all over brazil and as a type what about a bid for that lad at barca thiago??? he cant get a game , even cheeky loan offer who knows?

I appreciate that the potential owner can't be divulged because if it's on here, it will end up in the papers.

But I can't help but think of how silly it is that us knowing could scupper a multi-million pound deal.

Levy: You ready to sign the papers Mr. X
Mr. X: God NO! I saw my name on SpursCommunity. I asked for privacy. Misfit said he thought I would be a good owner. Billie Oddie wrote a long essay on the positives of my potential ownership. Spirit58 was very positive about it. Rawhide said he bet I would put money into transfers. And A&C wrote a brilliantly funny encapsulation of everybody's feelings. Is his wife really ugly?
Levy: I think its schtick
Mr. X: anyway, I'm done. I'm going to buy Sion in Switzerland, jerkface
Levy: Damn You GHOST!

Quality player, no chance. He gets plenty of game time at Barca.

im sure knowing that modric (our no1 midfielder player) will be leaving the team .. mr levy will certainly look for a replacement that will please the fans .. i am definetly confident come the new season our midfield will look very very strong . adding 1-2 new players in the midfield area along with bale, sandro vdv, parker and lennon (that list is bloody strong already) i feel we will be stronger than the season that just passed.

now imagine if mr redknapp was here he would still try his utmost to secure the services of joe cole as modrics replacement!!

i dont think so and disagree about untried and thiago. we are talking about specilaised position here. just cos vdv is a fantastic footballer doesnt make him a central midfield player. the make up of the man is not cut out to play in center midfield in the premiership. you are talking about him after watching internationals when games are slower more technical and you can get away with it more but not in the hussle and pace and power you need in premiership.

And above all what we think , i think if asked vdv he would not liek to play there for spurs anyway!! his work rate , his work ethic is not enough to play that role.. in certain games at home you might get away with it but personally i think spurs wud be absolute mugs to play vdv in modric role or in center midfield role. he is a hard player to work out but class , leave him as a number 10 option and buy two top strikers to challenge his position in team.

agree about the potential buyer, if it will fall through because a name leaks out then its way off being completed by next Friday.

yeah i agree about vdv, but thiago and the brazilians would be a massive risk to give such a important role to, like i said thiago is more of a vdv and to ask a brazilian to come straight in and be a cm for a top 4 english side is asking a bit too much

butttt we better leave this chat now as theres no ITK on em and it's not gonna be long before we get pulled on it ;)

My attempt at solving cryptic - clues: goat's mum, modric replacement, shopping, Iceland.

Goat's mum = Dam

Shopping in Iceland may be a smokescreen to draw attention to Gylfi Sigurdson.

So I googled and there is a store in Liverpool called Iceland Foods Ltd.

And the location of this store = Belle Vale Shopping Centre

Dam + Belle = Dembele?

Translated :

Still no agreement; Vertonghen should in a week just go to Ajax

06/23/12 Bet: Play Championship at Unibet! Place and receive € 60 starting bonus!
Ajax still has not reached agreement with Tottenham Hotspur on transfer of Jan Vertonghen. He will therefore simply have to report to the training of Ajax.Because of his obligations for the Belgian national team he will take a week longer break. He must be about a week at the basket, know the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper to report.
I'm seriously worried if Vertonghen 'must be about a week at the basket.' :D

You're giving the people who make these cryptics far too much credit.

where is the rating 'far too much time on your hands'?

Actually what transpired was that after someone said goat's mum is DAM and I thought Dembele played that role for Fulham and we were linked with him before...

So I merely googled "belle Iceland" and the shopping centre came up, which fit with shopping.

So it was a reverse engineered guess with Dembele as the starting point.

Which could be how the cryptics work... Could be...

:)
