Not happy with goat info, i would us to buy Oscar rather than Moutinho, watched his youtube and i've the same passion When i watched Bale before signing him ..

As for Sturridge, left footed right winger would good but we've already Giovani who could reach to his potenial under AVB, don't forget any interest for Chelsea player means that we could be open to lose key player to them.

You've decided you'd rather want an unproven Brazillian youngster rather than a top top class central midfielder who's proved himself on the big stages...based on a YouTube video? Jesus wept.

Unfortunately if we based our opinions solely on International football, then Gio would be world star and be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Alas, in reality, Gio is marginally more useful than Bentley which really isn't saying much! ;)

No. The reality is we've never played Gio in a system that suits him or his actual position - he's pretty much an unknown quantity at the moment, but would suit AVBs system of choice down to the ground.

I've also decided this for 2nd since Bale, it's depends on how you watch..

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Sturridge proved at Bolton he can score goals at this level, but didn't they deploy him in a more traditional striker role? his attitude is questionable but also didn't he state that he doesn't like to play on the wing of a front 3 and prefers to play down the middle?? which for us would hopefully be Ade...

Moutinho from reputation could be a great signing, but honestly i haven't seen enough of him to know, all in all mind it is now getting exciting!!

Feel fairly confident we're gonna splash some major bucks this summer. AVB want to get over the Chelsea incident as fast as possible, and have probably been told he will get some decent backing to get in some players that suit his style.

I never rated Sturridge, but if AVB want him im sure he have his reasons. We know AVB prefer playing 4-3-3, so might just be he see Sturridge as a good option as either backup or on the right of the 3 up front. Since we are quite a few players short in that area, regardless of what his plans are for Sturridge.

Dont know why, but i feel very safe in the hands of AVB. Strike me as a guy with a clear plan and philosophy, the man is a winner imo.

Although there might be some truth in this, he didn't exactly try very hard by all accounts did he....like most things, attitude is pretty vital if you want to make a go of things.

How many top-level managers anywhere tried it last season? Or the season before?

Juventus, Napoli, Italy. No chance he'll play it in England though; Too many teams still play 4-4-2, it's natural nemesis.

I think Moutinho coming in would be a fantastic bit of business as a Modric replacement, even if it costs us a fair whack. Not only does he have a similar function (albeit not identical) but he's AVB's man and as such would be a great way to put his playing style and ethos at the very centre of the team.

I'm sure there was some itk early on in the window can't think from who saying about nani, and now just see that valencia has his number 7 shirt last year, maybe putting 2 +2 together and getting 5 but who would be happy with him? Portuguese too ;)

Michael Owen was number 7. I think Nani wears 17(?)

I also remember Nani being an early guess for the Goat's "shopping with mum" itk which turned out to be about Sig.

To answer your question though...

Nani can be brilliant on his day but just seems to be a bit too greedy and inconsistent. Frustrating player to watch.

Did AVB use Sturridge as a striker....? This is surely an area which should be our top priority.

I`d be delighted with Moutinho, he looked class at the Euros and would certainly soften the blow should Modric leave...

Hardly, imagine putting him ahead of Drogba and Torres?

AVBs system will likely have the defensive midfielder drop back into defence splitting the 2 centre backs, with the fullbacks bombing forward. So it wont be 3 centre backs as such but the defensive midfielder will drop back and make it a 3.

Huddlestone?

if it came to it (and I hope it doesn't because I want Modric sold abroad) but I would be taking Nani over Sturridge every day of the frigging week!!!!

Yeah, I'm not too fussed on Sturridge.

He would cost a fair few bob for sure - I'd much rather look abroad for a potential star i.e Oscar, Cabral, Belhanda, Rodriquez et al.

Someone who could push Lennon for a starting spot

They're out there for sure.

Perhaps it's something to do with Sig's Nickname, which i believe is "the Grouch".

can't play both together.
YES YOU CAN!
Sign them both now - and put the nickname on his shirt - just so that each teamsheet would have to include the words "Oscar The Grouch". That sould be second only to Robbie Fowler naming his racehorse "Some Horse" so that the commentators were forced to say "And some horse is running..."

Jasper on SO in reply to the Goats ITK

I do not believe if we get Oscar which is red tape already with various parties involved-that it has anything to do with stig. Moutinho i believe is dependent upon a concluded sale for Modric. Sturridge is real but will it happen who knows, and this is my own personal opinion.

Nani is world class. He would be amazing at Spurs.

Haven't you heard? According to the vast majority on RAWK, Kelly's far better than Walker, who is just pace.
Please, Flanagan is better than Walker.

Having said that, the Kelly vs. Walker thing has bugged since last yr. Pool fans rate him very highly because he's actually a CB but been shunted out to RB. So I'm in no position to pooh pooh their opinion of hm as a player. The rage Walker inspires on RAWK is very lolsy though. Then again, most things on RAWK are.
