I know it looks like Modric is leaving, but... would it be wrong of me fantasising about him staying another season, wanting to work with AVB?
I'm with you - there are comments on various *un-named here* sites and media outlets that Real and Manyoo have gone off Modric due to the price. If he ends up without someone biting Levy's hand off to get him, maybe a new manager and some decent signings which show ambition could keep him. If there is news that will "blow our socks off" and it is made clear that he needs to stay, I assume he would do what he did this season (and put in 100% once the media crap is over).

I do not believe if we get Oscar which is red tape already with various parties involved-that it has anything to do with stig. Moutinho i believe is dependent upon a concluded sale for Modric. Sturridge is real but will it happen who knows, and this is my own personal opinion.
Christ, why are so many ITKs incapable of expressing themselves?! Would anybody care to guess what this means re: Oscar?

I would prefer Ade to Sturridge. Moutinho I will be shocked if he signs for us........but wouldn't say no............no mention of a keeper yet though.

He is basically saying it is a difficult deal to do with all the parties involved, red tape is normally associated with processes with barriers. He is probably referring to agents, perhaps some third party ownership and maybe even Oscar's family.

Bother. Sorry about pilot error above.

Was gonna say that it seems like Sturridge could turn out to be as main striker, and then Ade doesn't ever arrive. AVB and Sturridge didn't always get on coz Sturridge wanted the main striker position (in my opinion, no itk) and so getting him to spurs to play that role would allow an easy patch up of their relationship, esp if Ade doesn't come.

Of course he would be cheaper too. I am assuming.

This won't make everyone happy if it turns out that way, but it looks a possibility to me all the same.

Adebayor is a MUST. We have to sign him up. We won't be able to get anyone better.

Sturridge?! Please get real he ain't good enough! Might as well stick with Defoe.

We need back up to Ade if he signs or if he doesn't 2 similar type players which will be really tough to get.

Adebayor is an absolute must.

Well, yes.

People are saying about not being too keen on Sturridge, but from what I've seen he plays as a RWF, and can you imagine him and Bale playing as wide forwards? It'd be a pretty epic front line of Bale, (enter out and out striker here), and Sturridge. It would mean Lennon's days could be numbered though...

Not sure how I would feel about Sturridge. He has obvious talent but seems to have an ego too.

So, based on the ITK out there:
Sturridge - young, English, scores goals in the Prem, AVB knows him - if we buy him, I would assume it is with good reason. I see him as the Defoe replacement as well: I have been clamouring for JD to have a run in the side for years because I always believed that he had that 20+ goal season in him - but he keeps stuffing up his chances. Ship him off to QPR or Reading while he's still worth a few bob.
Nani - hit and miss - I would love him as competition for Lennon but think they similarly frustrating. If Levy's going to break the bank, I think there are better players to do it on!
Oscar - seen very little of him BUT, if there is a massive fee being mentioned, is it possible that there could be a double deal on the cards? Get a Portugese manager ... Brazilian keeper (remember him) and midfielder both perk up ... get a couple more young Brazilians in? 2 for 1 deal with Damiao would do me nicely!
Moutinho - 1+1=2 - we have hired a Portugese manager who used to manage him, he had a good Euros, only problem is that he is precisely the sort of player who I can see bidding wars over and Levy will drag it out and we miss out.
Sig - I'd be happy (unless his arrival means we say "right, midfield sorted. move on" - I want several key signings.
Verts - done by all accounts - needed. I would still like to see Caulker get a chance (and even Dawson if he ever gets fit) alongside Kaboom (who I never imagined being first pick!). It's sad that Ledders has finally been put down BUT the lack of a consistent centre-back pairing has been one of the key issues over the past few years so maybe it was time.
Ade - I know he was immense a stages of last season but is he really the only striker out there worth us spunking £170k pw on (whatever way they manipulate the signing fee to bring it down)? Man City WILL want to get some cash for him as they need to watch the pennies if they are going to satisfy the FFP rules (when they come in) - I'd rather see what deal they'd do on Tevez (and I hate the twisted little leprechaun).
Where does that leave us? We need the "fox in the box" striker we have needed since Lineker left; a few scintillating midfielders (especially if Modric does one); a solid defense; a keeper to rival Grandad/replace him when the cod liver oil runs out.

We don't need a keeper. Brad Friedel is ok as backup!

Get ready for the return to form of the beast called GOMES!

Oscar has been completely bought by Inter. He doesn't have any other parties involved I don't think.

Gomes - with a manager who can communicate clearly in a common language - could be great: what is the Portugese for "Catch the f**king ball for once"?

not sure what to make of that latest itk from the goat. imvho sturridge is overrated greedy defoe mark II to be honest. he is certainly not much of a team player. as for the rest i think is all dependent on modric been sold and getting good money for him. we dont have any given right to moutinho just cos avb is in now and if he was to leave porto he will im sure have plenty of options from clubs bigger than us. united been just one in market for creative midfielder.

also thought once upon time they was a seperate transfer fund for up coming outstanding youngsters, would oscar fall into this category? maybe not but just saying. i think myself it would be clever to bring both sigurdsson in and oscar and like sandro let oscar just ease into new life in london and team and squad seen the full benefits down the line.

i do think though the likes of lennon and huddelstone maybe dawson might be a wee bit concerned in the way that AVB's teams line up but personally think the way to go with personnel at spurs is a 4-2-3-1 formation albeit more fluid and pacier one that usual!!

Someone else said this the other day because there is stuff all over t'internet with conflicting signing dates for Inter - by the sounds of it, they took him on loan and refused to give him back!Got to be worth a look!
