Chelsea don't have to bother about living within their means, and Abramovich can splurge on Sheva and Torres and not be overly fussed that he's blown £80m on a couple of donkeys. That doesn't begin to take wages into account.

I think because the window started so positively, the lack of action in the last 3 weeks has been particularly accentuated.

I think to avoid large scale gnashing of teeth we should remember the positive things that have happened recently (Sigurdsson, Vertonghen, Zeki, Bale new contract etc) not to mention a shiny new manager.

But I think we can all agree that the squad isn't ready for the new season in some relatively key areas. There's still time and the ITK sounds positive about our intentions, but I too am feeling quite pessimistic at the moment.

I can happily return to the shadows and post when things are nearly done or certain and then we would still be about 5 days to a week ahead of the papers and the website and it is a safe 100% guaranteed success rate,
Or i can let you know that things are in progress and you can get excited as we try and do some big deals?
As a supporter i thought i would let you in early as before when i wasn't fortunate to be ITK it was the thrill of the hunt that i liked the most(even Arshavin) and not the actual kill!
I am kind of dammed if you do and dammed if you dont and there is so much crap spoken about by other ITK's on twatter and in the papers or forums that its good to be able to say they are talking utter shite.
Now out of respect to Rob and the mods please dont post questions.
Cheers and hopefully we will land 1 of our targets this week.

Sorry mate, I probably didn't word that well - hadn't had my Monday morning coffee. I was just surprised when you were quite forthright about the big deal that fell through a week or so back - it wasn't like you to put your neck on the line about something so early and end up disappointed - your information has been without question the most reliable around for some time, and I appreciate it. I wasn't suggesting you don't post info early in deals, I was just saying I hope you're being careful and not getting in too early on a gut feeling or a maybe, as some in here hang on your every word, and the wailing and gnashing of teeth if we don't sign Leandro, Adebayor, Falcao and Eusebio and Jesus by August 31st will be too much to bear.
Don't stop doing what you're doing mate, I was just saying I hope you're not feeling the pressure to perform, and abandoning the checks and balances you've always applied to ensure you get the best info.

You could be waiting for a while as time seems to move more slowly in POTL's world than for the rest of us. The last thing he posted was about Adebayor "signing this week" - however presumably a week for POTL lasts about 21+ days.

IMO, potl's halo has been slipping lower and lower, over recent windows.
He'll have to be careful he doesn't trip over it soon.

Someone's taken a scourer to his Teflon.

Peanut's the only other one up there on JJ's level for me. Maybe this David chap as although I don't recall hearing from him in previous years, other posters whom I hold in high regard, seem to rate him highly.

Yep, I think POTL is away at the mo. exciting times maybe but the difference between Harry and AVB is that AVB has managed a Hulk, A mountinho and seen quality players at his time at Barca. Harry on the other hand would get flagged down by the side of the road stick his head out the window and say "frazer who? Sounds triffic". AVB on the other hand who has earned his reputation is not going to be mugged off with a Rasiak.

Been a while hasn't it? Apologies.

I believe last time I posted was saying goodbye to pienaar and hello to Ade, 1 has happened, 1 was done but we have had some hold ups- have posted before on the complexities of a transfer. Ade still massively ongoing and confident of completion.

In other news today is a big day at the lodge. Players are being told today who is staying and who will be told that they are free to find new clubs or loans. Andre gave everybody the opportunity to prove themselves in his first month in charge as has been reflected in the number of participents in friendlies. Now we are back in the UK, expect movement from here on in. Haven't seen the forum board so can't comment on any speculation.
