Who cares what the Lyon chairman says the true ITK, goes by the name of AVB, has said we won't be signing Mouts or Willian but Rafa might go, you can choose not to believe him but Defoe's new contract is a sure sign we aren't signing a striker. So even if Lyon are posturing best case we get Lloris and keep Rafa and worst case we don't get Lloris and sell Rafa. If that is how our window finishes it will be yet another final window week of Levy b/s calling clubs across Europe with stupid bids they won't accept while failing to actually sign the players we need. I suspect the fans patience with Levy will be at an end.

AVB is quite as big a bullshitter as Harry. He just speaks better English.

Well that certainly doesn't seem positive from JJ. Hopefully there is a silver lining to that statement.

Someone ask JJ some pertinent questions; I can't follow him due to the need for an approval. We need some positivity!

Agreed. Whilst we have made some promising signings, looking at the bigger picture, and on the assumption VDV is headed back to Hamburg, if we do not sign a CM and CF, I just think this window will have been a failure.
If VDV stays (can't see it now), less importance on the CM, but either way, CF is an absolute must. We've known all summer, and still haven't addressed it. Defoe is not the answer, and this new contract is an odd move. Two strikers, one of whom can't play up top on his own, and a relatively untried Harry Kane, is not the strikeforce of a team with realistic top four ambitions.
After all the groundwork, Lloris must be completed too. What happened to the talk of 4pm medical..?
Failure to seal these, is quite frankly embarrassing. I know we are run very prudently to maintain a stable foundation, this is better than being in mountains of debt like other clubs, but if the powers that be truly expect us be competing for CL football, then the investment has to match the ambition. No point changing managers if he is not going to be given a squad with talent and depth capable of doing the job.

I'm still hopeful Levy will prove he's the man, and deliver the players required, but unfortunately the last few windows haven't quite panned out like that. Fingers crossed this time, with a new manager, he will be backed up.

"If VDV stays (can't see it now), less importance on the CM" - VDV is not a CM, he is a luxury AM/No.10 (albeit a brilliant wouldn'thaveawordsaidagainsthimone)with 60 mins max performance per game and not for every game we are going to have to play this season. We don't have a replacement for what we had last year yet. Mouts is it. It's Mouts or bust for me.

Maybe it's Lyon who threw the toys out the pram?

Although I have seen a lot of fans calling Levy a **** on social networks so could be in response to that

what the fuck does that mean?

I suspect it's aimed at Lyon noticing the pile of filthy lucre hanging around White Hart Lane in a tatty bag labeled 'MODRIC SWAG' and saying "Hey, Spurs, I know we already agreed/set a price for Lloris, but that cash sure does smell nice..."
