So King injured for last parts of the season, not up to his best when he did play. A fit Vertonghen is far better
Krancjar hardly played so Siggy (properly rotated/subbed etc) will be a big improvement
Pienaar again hardly played so Townsend (properly rotated/subbed etc) will be a big improvement
Corluka again hardly played so Naughton (properly rotated/subbed etc) will be a big improvement

So 4 out oif 6 clearly wrong. Time to go back to school

A&C has said this morning that Akqa will probably not be considered ITK in the future.

Impossible to tell till the end of the season. Dembele may become the player of the season, Siggy might get his head chopped off in a Sushi incident.

The major issue with 433 is, you need a clinical striker or clinical wingers and we have neither at the moment unless we move VDV on the right and he doesnt come deep

while bale goes on spurts of goals he is not clinical imo yet, last season he had a shit load of chances but didnt do great at times and same for Ade

I don't think he makes the stuff up, I just don't think he filters out the names that are just mentioned as inquiries and longshots. Most ITK only post about stuff that has a decent chance of coming off, but not him. JJ and Gards suggest that he has good info, and that's good enough for me to note it even if I realize that most of it won't ever happen.

So your argument is that because we didn't play Pienaar etc he is worse than Townsend? Yeah ok but when he was starting for Everton Townsend was often on the bench for birmingham in the championship I think you need to work on some logic puzzles mate.

My main point was however if you cannot read in into it is that our squad is AT BEST on a par with last season and probably slightly worse whereas our rivals have improved (maybe with the exception of l'arse)

I agree. Not trying to bash ITK, but when you call transfers five minutes before they happen and broaden the cryptics so much that regardless of what target we sign there's a 75% chance of being right, it kind of defeats the purpose of ITK.

I appreciate the bits of info Aqkayid gives us, and I take all ITK with a pinch of salt.

No my argument was that Pienaar's (and Corluka and krancjar) effect on results was negligible because they were not picked - they might just as well not been in the squad. Therefore any decent player is an improvement.

BTW suggest you check your facts. Townsend was keeping the much vaunted Redmond on the bench at Birmingham on loan for most of the time he was there.

Played great against united as well caused Lindegaard quiet a few problems with some great crosses

Ade and Bale are fine. Its the right side and the midfield that worries me. I dont think 433 will work unless you have goal scoring midfielders.

IMO you need at least 1 clinical consistent goal scorer to make it work whilst Bale and Ade will give us goals, they aren't consistent goal scorers and midfield of Moutinho, Dembele and Sandro won't give much either(though imo it would increase with the freedom they would have)

Which was down to management not player ability
