This really doesnt sound good enough to me. I hope I'm wrong but Luka and Rafa seem too big a miss.

Dembele will suprise you, playing with much better player I can see him beeing very effective, even more so than Modric since Dembele work amazingly hard and is amongst the top tacklers in the league!

Dempsey will provide what Lennon never did, goals from the side and he will be able to get on Bales crosses, as Lennon never managed. He also will fill in for Ade when he is out, and will give some good rotation possibilities for any of our front 3.

Gylfi is not on VdV's level yet, but he is young, talented and work hard. And for all we know VdV might be out half of Hamburgs games this season due to injuries.

Add Lloris in there and we have a freakin solid back 5, and will for years.

i think you have to look at the season in stages and the team we have are more than capable of competing top four up until january. Then I would like to think we could go back in for some of these players (work on it a little longer) and get second wind, just as Everton did last season when Jelavic and Pienaar went back. That could see us over the line
I mean surely the money is there to spend in Jan?

I think we have brought in some real top players. Im pleased. Just losing 3 of our best players at the same time.

People do realise that we will never see King, VDV or Modric again in a Spurs shirt

I think we could have just pushed the boat out a little to appease that loss.

Dembele is class, Dempsey is a top player. Vertonghen, signing of the summer for me. Lloris is one of the worlds best keepers. Siggurdsson has scope to become a very good player.

Agreed. Lyon's Chairman gave a good indication into Levys dealings. A rumour doing the rounds was the shared ownership over the player. TBH, I do not buy for 1 min, that the club wouldn't have known about that until now. I'm sure the club will do there damage limitation PR. However, I think we've missed the boat now from being potential title challengers to now trying challenging to get 4th. Opportunity missed. Also, a lot of players have been sold over the last year or so, and only a portion of the money has been reinvested.
AVB most have had a good idea about the ownership isues with Moutinho...didn't he sign him?

Quite literally no #9 or #10.

Deflated.

To be fair some teams have made that work....however were not exactly Spain or Barca. However I will look forward to seeing how things pan out. With the loss of VDV and Modric our first team is arguably weaker however the squad is stronger as a whole I feel. Dembele could end up to be a wonderful player for us and if Dempsey can score anywhere near what he did last year he will soon be a firm favorite. Add Frances No1 and captain, the former Ajax captain, Siggy who looks very promising and Ade we aren't in terrible shape. Time will tell if we have really fucked up or assembled a decent side.

How is Sky Sports' totaliser stupid fucking thing accurate when so much of these deals are undisclosed fees? How do they know??

About the window:

Well happy.

Really pleased with our signings. Proper diamonds in the rough type signings for me that I said I'd be happy with a few days ago.
All done for sensible money.
All, bar probably Clint will make a profit.

Not only that, Dembele is a properly good player. He'll work harder than Modric. I think he'll also score more goals.

Dempsey is a great signing also.

The idiots that are moaning about Moutinho haven't a clue about him aside from maybe a YouTube video.

This has been a very good window.
Better than many realise.

I honestly think dembele will be more effective then modric ..

Someone save this message if you want ..

Cant believe some peoples negativity on here .. Quite suprised to be honest ..

Can completly understand everyones fustrations i am gutted too about moutinho .. Modric is playing for real madrid (says it all) and vdv was clearly destined for hsv (as much as i love the man to bits i am not too depressed about his loss)

But being aggressively negative aint the way to go guys .. Everyones entitled to their own opinions but i am shocked at the way some are going on

Come on , Get behind the team ..

Starting with norwich .. COYS

If that is true, and it was for the sake of 10k per week, the board have really f*cked up a great opportunity here.
£10k per week is over half a million a year...
I agree that it seems like small fry in the greater scheme of things (eg CL money) but, if that is the £10k that pushes him ahead of Bale and triggers a round of renegotiations on wages, is that the best plan in the long run?

We r weaker, if sandro , bale get Injured lets enjoy 8th place , how can anyone b happy , vdv and modric for sig and dempsey, this window has made me realise levy is no good , all he wants is money, he cares nothing about the team just fills the numbers , sad sad day.
We got a terrific CB in JV, a world class keeper in Hugo Lloris, a very good striker in Ade one of the most promising PL midfielders in Dembele. a proven goalscorer in Dempsey and a midfielder who made Swansey tick last season in Sig. A Modric type transef happens very rarely for anyone who does not represent the class of Barca/Real/Bayern or is willing to splash the cash ala City/Chelski/PSG. Hands up who wants a Leeds at Spurs. Hands up who wants a new stadium. In the end our dealings have been one of THE success stories of the window. And yes Levy gets assessed by his financial results, or do we want to be on the verge of bancrupcy, cos we were there not too long ago.

everyone knew avb really wanted moutinho do you not think they would take advantage of that situation?

Of course they would, but you have to work through situations like that in virtually any negotiation. You can't simply say "oh they know we want him, we'll just not bother then".

Unless you think every football club should operate in absolute secrecy and transfer targets should be kept strictly to the boardroom.

......

....actually that's not such a bad idea...

If the price was too high than it was too high. THFC is a business but it suggests we will still have money to spend in Jan.
