Same thing. I used to love the US Nats back in 98 when they were getting piss throw at them in Guatemala and just trying their best. Then the media blitz and the right wing take over of Sams Army and I went Dutch (and I always have a soft spot for the Swedes and Norse). And I did it because of Dennis Bergkamp. That's right....a fucking gooner. But that gooner made me love football in 94 and 98 along with Paul Magath and it's too my credit that despite my love for him, I still fell for Spurs. :)

"Right wing takeover?" Of a fan club?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we still went for Sahin and he turned us down.

I cannot correct you, but you cannot correct me either, because neither of us know as there nothing entirely definitive out there. I suspect I'm more right than you are though. I remember what JJ said about the situation (don't buy POTL's catch up stuff) and besides why would he choose Liverpool over us if we were a legitimate option? They are a huge club but we are stronger at the present time. They do not hold a Champions League advantage over us and nor seemingly, do they financially. As we saw with Gylfi, they are not in a place to offer stronger terms than us at present. We held all the cards with Madrid given their interest in Modric. If we truly wanted Sahin he would have been ours. Madird would have forced it through if we were determined.

I think it was pretty clear that AVB was set on Moutinho from the very start. It's just a shame that we could not work out a lot earlier that it was a deal that could would not likely be done.

V.D.V. was a miracle sent from above. Truly exceptional. Levy probably just had to say to Madrid: "yes, we'll take him" . Levy never could have anticipated how fortunate he would be to acquire such a passionate player who can rally a team to victory. At another time, V.D.V. would have probably cost something Spurs would never be able to pay. In the end, I guess I'm just too sad to see V.D.V. go and have Dempsey as replacement. Yes, I'm acting like a 12 year-old, but only cause I'm a noob at handling the deception I feel right now.

its funny how a month ago when jj dropped a hint of a 'world class' signing people were arguing between muller, sneijder, huntelaar and lewandowski and there supposed pros and cons.

today we are biggin' up the likes of dempsey.

Grasping at straws here, but why else would AVB and Levy stay at the Lodge hours after the deadline. If I can remember from past windows, usually the coach and Levy would leave right after the deadline when all deals were done. Something has to be going on for them to stay that late.

No way it's done. If so, we'd have been doing our best at the deadline to leak it to the press so it looked like we'd got it done just in time

Why announce it hours after the deadline, it makes no sense.

3.08am, what the fuck am I doing up.
