Assuming Messi and Ronaldo are number 1 and 2, who is the 3rd best player in the world?

Been talking about it at work, few people come up with suggestions, I went with Iniesta, the colombian guy at my work obviously went with Falcao, just wondered what everyone else thought? If i have missed anyone out in the poll let me know and I'll add.

Apologies if this has been doen before, tried looking but couldn't find a thread.

Gone with Xavi, multiple world cup/euros winner, multiple CL and La Liga winner, consistently high stats, and won 3rd place Ballon d'or in 2010 and 2011

Barca would be a lot worse without him.

Bizarre one this I know, and no doubt I'll get laughed off the pitch, but 3rd best player for me would be Ronaldo.

I rate Iniesta as a better player than Ronaldo.

I went with Silva as at times he carried Man City's other stars last season. The guy is truly world class. Most on the list could get it except maybe Ozil, Benzema, Ibra, Huiguianianiun, and Hulk

Really? It was contentious that he lost out to Messi considering the seasons both had and you'd put Iniesta ahead of him?

Interesting this one, I think it's hard to judge on different position. Agreed though would say messi and ronnie are the 2 best, most influential and us style mvp's. But would be tricky to compare them to. CB etc or GK.

If I have to choose though, Xavi it is, I absolutey love the way the guy plays, and senior as he is he has had one serious career!

I haven't seen enough ball over the last few years to say the third best wide forward / Forward a la messi and ron, would probably go for hulk, for stats high scorer in that position, I really like silva, mata & hazard also, but not the same goal returns but crackin players.

Also i think had David villa not had his big injury, he would be nailed on for no.3 in the world position and all round....

I would actually go for Yaya Toure. I think he's the most complete footballer on the planet and doesn't actually dip below superb in any aspect of his game, defensively or offensively.

was thinking "don't even think he's in the best two on this pitch..." when they kept saying the first and second best players in the world (re' Messi and Ron)

Ron for me is a good shift and shoot winger who is quick.

Has too much unnecessary prancing and falling antics to be that good. his tricks are for show (Messi does very little in the way of showboating) and all premeditated, very little of what Ron does is genuine creative flair, Iniesta has that in abundance, has half the pace of Ron but beats men much more skilfully.
