No, not really adamant. He had heard about a tie up with AEG which was probably connected with the stadium development. Not sure he is really ITK but he is a top man.

oh that was it. I knew he was wrong on that from someone who would be making that decision at AEG. Thats why I dont take any notice of what he says!

So that will be No Mouts, Damiao, Willian, Sneijder etc. Holtby will be our last signing this window.

Am I the only one who feels like we will prob miss out on 4th place if this is it? Its almost like Deja Vu every Jan window. We need a striker and never get one. Levy can't keep escaping the blame as there are good affordable players out there.

we don't need a striker. we need to utilize our strikers properly. 4-4-2 is not working. we're winning but our forwards are awful together. 4-5-1 was when Defoe was scoring goals. Has Ade even put in a shift in the 4-5-1?

of course a striker would be nice. but we need a goal scorer/assist disher.

somebody who makes our strikers better. not somebody to make them sit on the bench be useless and angry.

Defoe usually starts the season well and then fizzles out...which is exactly what is happening now. Ade is off to ACON and if he comes back in the form he has been in, he may as well stay out there. If Defoe gets injured, we have Dempsey who is not a natural striker....I think we do NEED another striker.

I'm not convinced we need to make a signing to get 4th. Arguably we have a strong enough squad for that. We need a signing to push on from fourth and I think probably 4th is enough in Levy's mind. (I expect a negging for this, so do your worst)

Good morning one and all.

I am curious to know what will happen when yet again we decide not to strengthen our options in the final third and we fail to finish top for. Our striking options are shocking, regardless of Ady going or not. Its a long old season and players will get tiered if they dont get injured. And our need for a attacking midfielder with flair was painfully obvious against QPR. I know many think we will get Holtby early and he will go some way to solving this problem, i myself am not so sure. He is a very promising player but has the potential to be another Sig, he is also not know for his movement with the ball, and i think we really need a central attacking midfielder who can take on defenders. If we dont bring in anyone and all those rumors about us not wanting to spend money at all turn out to be true then i feel very sorry for AVB for being dealt such a bum deal. 5th, or 6th may well mean the sack but even worse then that... who will want to come to us then??? every manger worth there salt will know we wont financially back the manger when it counts most. Only one name springs to mind David Moyes, purely for his ability to overachieve with no money. Many thought he would be replacing Harry Redschanpps anyway so i would not be surprised if this where to happen next season if we finish 5 or bellow.

Dont get me wrong, i would hate this to happen and no doubt Levy is waiting for the last day to try and pull something out of the bag but for me this is an awful waist of time by the ownership who should have brought in all there players in the opening days in order to have a maximum settling in period and impact. But all in all its most likely going to be a tooth and nail fight to the finish line, one that we may not win if we dont bring in some fresh faces.

oh to be a spurs fan....

wouldnt say our up front options are "shocking". Ade defoe and dempsey is better than the vast majority of PL teams.

Holtby in now means no Mourts till summer if ever.

Still need a striker now, we've spent bugger all money so hopefully this will happen.

This is Danial Levy your talking about he wouldn't give a door a bang.

Badly run obviously happy with how things are going and has no intention of progressing us further.

Personally if we dont add to our stretched squad then IMO we wont get top 4. Then you can blame whoever you want but my monies on people blaming AVB but the real blame should be put squarely at the feet of our Chairman...............Again

Holtby in now would be useful, but I remain skeptical if he is the player to help us push on and get 4th this season.
He is a good young prospect and will undoubtedly get game time already this season, but to pin hopes on this kid coming and settling quickly into the pace and power of the EPL...

Obviously there is an element of that in any non EPL signing, but I am fearful that if Holtby is it for this January window then we are going to struggle. Of course we could still do it, but it is going to be very tight and one bad challenge away from having too few Goals in our side (If we lost Defoe and/or Bale).

Still, any reinforcements are welcome and thanks for the ITK Ryantegan

No I havent heard anything but isnt it obvious? Like I said, it is the same every Jan window. JJ always said it would be a quiet window. I just fear that we are going to make the same mistakes all over again. Not strengthen up top and let Arsenal pip us to 4th as usual. Let's not forget in the second half of the season teams near the bottom of the league always park the bus even more, in hope they will get a point and survive the drop. The team whose strikers perform better will get 4th imo.

Don't wish to dampen the mood but a few on Twitter this morning linking us to Kenwyne Jones. Gards has suggested it could be a goer. So we go from Leandro and Sneijder to a player who plays rugby!

@Gards44: yeh I got told this also and put it on SC! Leandro to costly I'm told!

Backing up or borrowing Ryan's ITK:

@TomCStandard: Get the impression Lewis Holtby could become a Tottenham player sooner rather than later #thfc

Agree,

and it puts avb in a difficult position. already great pressure to finish 4th which is getting increasingly difficult (lack of signings, striker options/ade and the acn, injuries)

So if he put it on SC why did mods not put it on RO? You don't want to be the cause of so many suicides I suppose... Good call!
