Dembele fucked up big time and while Naughton may have been out of position i don't blame him for that in this instance.

oh it's certainly dembele's error, he just pointing out that Naughton's position and awareness is poor.

hopefully BAE comes out in 2nd because a yellow card against that pace. a bit of a team who rolls about and cheats and a ref who gives them everything is a dangerous cocktail

hudd will make our attack and passing way more direct. as of now our pace of passing is too slow and we take too many touches before passing.

Wayyyy to many touches its like no one in the in team see's the pass before they receive the ball, Dembele could have played that pass but he took too long.

I do feel hudd needs to come on but the only player i would take him off for is dempsey but he's scored :- /

Who is the commentator, Jim Beglan?

"just hoof the ball forward, just play it onto the box, see what happens"

Would he ever **** up. What era is he living in?

I can't remember a more mediocre half of football from Spurs in a long time. Struggling to see any positives, Basel look poor but we look completely uninterested. I wonder if AVB or the tram really wants to go through.... We can't expect to be a top 3/4 team and be completely reliant on Bale/Lennon to win all our matches

Don't think we have looked disinterested at all. But we have been struggling to make passes and need more runs into space up front. Can't fault the effort imo, but can fault that some of the key player are playing like schoolboys.

I think we're playing really well - better than the sum of our parts. Some good slick passing moves. I wouldn't change the front 5 (that includes Dembele, despite a very mixed half). Is this a good moment to point out that all of that front 5 are still in their first year at the club? OK, I'm cheating a bit on Ade - but still, the quality of the interchanging speaks volumes for AVB.

If it isn't working by the 60th minute or so, Huddlestone is the only real Plan B we have, in that he can change the tempo and style of the team. This doesn't feel like a game for Carroll. I don't know what a game for Livermore would feel like.

And for the most part I thought the defence was good, Dawson the best of them despite the stick he's getting. Naughton had a horrible moment for the goal, but has done well going forward. If we're losing, BAE and some crosses is I suppose a gamble we could try, but I have a feeling we'll defend worse with him on.

When we have a set piece this half I would like to see us send Dawson/Vertonghen forward and sling it in the box and try and make something happen. I don't know what just taking it short achieves a lot of the time.

Naughton has been spectacularly bereft of of cranial engagement. They love to work the ball down the left side always with the intention to get in behind us yet for some reason he is intent of committing himself to the tackle. Track the runner!

dempsey had been great today looked dangerous. hes in good position to recieve most balls laid off from adebayor and i would keep both on.

It seems that AVB doesnt rate him which is retarded imo especially when he prefers Naughton ahead of him.

Just don't understand this, surely they must have fallen out or something.

Why you'd pick a less experienced right footed full back over a left footed more experienced one, who is a better player despite his shortcomings, is strange to me.

Killed by sideways passing. Don't understand why we continue to do that. All that does is invite pressure....and dembele was caught on the ball.

not much choice most of the time. when you have players standing waiting for the ball to come to them and not move into space you can either pass it forward and lose the ball or pass sideways/back and try and keep the ball.

better movement and we can keep the ball going forward. Keep playing musical statues with no music and we will keep passing it sideways

I think my eyes are deceiving me but as Holtby bent down it looked like he had a little blue thong on...
