Nah enough people got it and i didn't want to give out too much info as i don't know what's behind the "answer" - why i don't claim this ITK badge.

also i wanted to remain mystic, however with my current reputation i think i'm about as mystic as a crusty minge.

Mystic crusty minge on google images comes up with a picture of Ant and Dec.

Just because we are apparently getting paid the Modric money in small installments, doesn't mean we 'let him go cheap'. The money will still arrive to us in the end, its just a matter of how long.

So your objection to guesswork is opinion not fact? Isn't that just more guessing? The ironing is delicious! :)

Never found ironing to be that great, but hey different stokes for different folks.

I do think if they come calling for Mr. Bale we should refuse them credit.
Perez: May we pay you in annual installments of £5m over 16 years?
Levy: You still owe us £30m
Perez: I no concur?
Levy: Gimme my fucking money bitch or I'll smack the shit outta you!

Correct - spot on.

if you remember all that stuff we once wrote about LOCs and Invoice discounting you'll see you don't need to actually have the money NOW.

For a recap:

LOC = letter of credit. Essentially a guarenttee of something being completed by a BANK. so the bank takes the risk away from the buying club, confirming payment to the sellers club.

Invoice discount = look at what you're owed over time, and the bank with give you (e.g.) 90% of that value up front to play with, while the bank sits back and collects over time.

We're getting there people! finance 101!

I don't know why this is a revelation to some people. As far as I recall our manager has had the title of Head Coach since the days of Jol - certainly Jol and Ramos did and i'm sure that was also Harry's official title.

It was clear under Harry that he had little say in a lot of transfers.

It was clear under Ramos and Jol that Comolli was the one doing the deals.

That AVB doesn't have a lot to do with transfers isn't a surprise to me at all.

Harry Redknapp's official title was "Manager" according to the Tottenham Hotspur Official Handbooks for 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12. This was a major departure from the situation under Sporting Directors Frank Arnesen and Damien Commoli, in as much as Jacques Santini, Martin Jol and Juande Ramos were all Head Coach. Glenn Hoddle had been Manager under David Pleat as Director of Football. Jol had the title of Manager, in the interim between Arnesen leaving in June and Commolli starting in September 2005, and I'd suggest that this was a cause of the struggle for supremacy between the two in which there was only going to be one winner: Commolli, since he was the more senior. Jol's increase in responsibility had been necessary during the close season hiatus, and he has taken a lot of stick for using Newcastle's interest in him to bolster his position. No one has yet made similar criticism about AVB doing the same thing vis-a-vis both Real Madrid's and PSG's reported recent interest.
I'd dispute the assertion that Redknapp had little to do with transfers, though unsurprisingly he was kept well away from the financial negotiations, despite his title. Redknapp himself changed what he said about this according to how the team was doing. For all his qualities, and he was a good coach, and a great motivator for those he liked, he was always out for number one. As far as AVB is concerned, I'd be amazed if he had no input on necessary transfers, who would fit into his style of play, and where the team's deficiencies were, though it is clearly not part of his responsibilities to negotiate those deals.
For all that, your major point was about the fact that a lot of people didn't realize who had what title, and I agree with you that this is remarkable, when the facts are so easy to check.

I think even Levy would struggle against the might of the Spanish government's play thing 'football team not remotely funded by government money in a massively corrupt way'™

It was a great response on it's own. But the kicker in red might mean you almost won the interwebs. :notworthy: (although I don't like this "not worthy" smiley. The green makes it seem like he's making sick)

Oh and the reason you didn't win: Russell Brand is on fire ;)

My ironing is done by the good lady wife, but if you find it delicious then whatever floats your boat.

It is obviously ALL guesswork and you are right, what do I know and why is my opinion any more valid than that expressed in that article? However, I was responding to somebody expressing an opinion supposedly as a fact, I state clearly that mine is an opinion based on commonsense.

But if I am providing you with delicious ironing, enjoy!

Hmmm he says Sherwood appointed Steffen Freund but in the first interview Steffen did
with Tottenham (the video is on youtube) he says he spoke to Andre for three hours on the phone
then the next Andre phoned him back and said "yes, i would like to have you here at Spurs".
So Sherwood may of suggested Freund but he didn't appoint him.

Or... D Cullen has you believing exactly what she wants you to. While laughing at us weak minded fools
