How about: sell Higuain to Arsenal and you won't ever get Bale?

How about : We have ambitions to be the greatest team in world football, you won't ever get Bale ? ;)

( I see the flaw in that as we have already achieved that status)

Freund goes nowhere and I don't care for whatever reason.

Greatest and best cheerleader we have ever had, club ambassador or whatever, he goes nowhere.

Correct - spot on.

if you remember all that stuff we once wrote about LOCs and Invoice discounting you'll see you don't need to actually have the money NOW.

For a recap:

LOC = letter of credit. Essentially a guarenttee of something being completed by a BANK. so the bank takes the risk away from the buying club, confirming payment to the sellers club.

Invoice discount = look at what you're owed over time, and the bank with give you (e.g.) 90% of that value up front to play with, while the bank sits back and collects over time.

We're getting there people! finance 101!

Someone mentioned the other day that we have a debt of something like £70m at the moment, would that be partly covered by these incoming payments from clubs like Madrid and whoever else still owes us money? That would mean we actually have more money available than it would at first appear, I'm not a financialist so I have no idea what I'm really talking about.

Not wishing to rock the boat, but doesn't having a large debt usually reduce the amount you have to spend?

Indeed. Welcome one and all to the magical world of without recourse financing, discounted receivables, promissory notes, interpolated LIBORs and MT700s and all that sparkly jazz......

Hmmm he says Sherwood appointed Steffen Freund but in the first interview Steffen did
with Tottenham (the video is on youtube) he says he spoke to Andre for three hours on the phone
then the next Andre phoned him back and said "yes, i would like to have you here at Spurs".
So Sherwood may of suggested Freund but he didn't appoint him.

I don't know about these days, but Freund and Sherwood were far from friends in their playing days. For that reason I was very (though pleasantly) surprised when Freund was appointed last summer.

Not really, chelsea, man u, barcelona, arsenal, real all have debts in the hundreds of millions but can still spend far more than us. It's all about cash flow.
