come on people time to donate to the "Make A&C Happy again" charitable trust (otherwise known as the SC site costs). between us i reckon we can raise enough to get him a life size replica dildo of pamela Anderson.

dig deep. Im going to start off with £20.
Actually, this would cheer me up :coffee:

I don't think you have thought this through.

What exactly is a 'life size replica dildo of Pamela Anderson'?

The mind boggles ;)

What annoys me is the notion that people think transfer activity only happens within certain timeframes. Sure that's when the trading happens but it's not as like nothing has/should have been discussed before.

Deadwood should have been lined up and shipped as early as possible so we know what we have to play with. Targets should be in early as possible (this time) so we know where we stand.

not as simple as that i guess yada yada yada

What deadwood would you say needs to be shipped out? Bentley-gone, Jenas-gone, Gallas-gone, Hudd?, Livermoore? Parker (is he deadwood?) Non of our strikers can be deemed as deadwood because selling your strikers before we buy any would be madness.
Not sure we can sell Jenas again mate

On a serious note though am I the only one who is not bothered by the latest ITK? Maybe moving off some deadwood first would allow for us to have more funds for other areas that need improving?

As ITK has mentioned we are looking for:

Striker
Wide Forward
Left Back

Lets assume our budget before we signed lil P'inho was 40 million pounds, Factor in his purchase and we are left with a handsome 22 odd million pounds for the rest of the positions. Now I know to some that isn't even enough for Benteke but It doesn't need to be. A quick search of transfermarkt and my own knowledge of a few players and I have come up with a list of possible targets:

Striker (Carlos Bacca 8 million euros)
Wide Forward (Adem Ljajic 12 million euros)
Left Back (Aly Cissokho 6 million euros)

Carlos is a fucking awesome name, and he was the highest scorer in the Belguim first division last season, Adem can double as a creative midfielder/left wing and We all know about Cissokho even though I'd rather have Rose step up to first team. Now if I can do that with such a minimal budget why are you all worried about Baldini's ability to do even better?

Have Faith Tottenham Faithfuls :D

Bacca has signed for Sevilla and I don't think we need a LB. I think BAE is better than Cissokho.

Would rather pool the money & get Bernard

Clubs often aren't interested in it until the off season though... sure they will have ideas of who wants to go or who should be shipped out and thus who they need to replace, but the focus during the season is on football and league placements, cups etc...

How many times do you hear the words "I will decide at the end of the season" from players, precisely because they don't want the hassle whilst they need to be concentrating on their football. Yes things happen behind the scenes, but until a player makes up their mind what are you going to do?!

It's like David Villa, the guy took his time before deciding what HE wanted to do, we couldn't influence him anymore it was just a waiting game and one that didn't go in our favour... so now whilst we would love to have a few players sold, we have to wait for clubs to talk and then the player to consider their options.

They themselves, like Hudd for example might think..."hmm, Sunderland, not sure, maybe some other club like Fulham or other more local team to London might come in, I will wait and ask Agent to sort."

People on here need to be patient. We cant influence it, we can only get frustrated, take a chill pill or other item of choice, sit back and enjoy the A&C carnage as people continue to bash ITK (seriously, people read the fecking rules!)

Oh and donate, save your butts from persecution... remember The End is always Nigh.

truth is players MUST go if we really want any more additions. its a damn shame that we couldnt add villa because he is the best striker we can get below 10m, and still have funds for 1-2 more positions. every other good strikers out there cost up to 20m, and its really critical for us to sell now..imo as much as i would love a LB, we really need to push everything we've got into a ST then LW.

and i realise spurs fans are really fucking impossible please. brb we target villa/soldado, then set A fans will appear "LOLOLOL FORLAN ALFONSO NO NO NO" then SET B will come out and say " LOL HAHAHA CMON GIROUD BENTEKE all did good for first season" then set A will go " lol no way just because you did good for one season doesnt mean your next season would be good just look at papiss cisse" then set B will come back with "how about aguero and suarez?" then set A attacks again " lol just because you are good at one team doesnt mean you will be good at the other, like torres" , then set b goes " then how about RVP?"

so in conclusion, only 1 kind of player will satisfy spurs. he has to be a bonafide scorer. he cannot be old. he must be proven outside and inside the pl not just for 1 season, but also multiple season. he has to GUARANTEE that he wouldnt flop in our team because calculated risk DOES NOT exist in spurs fans book. he has to love the club. he cannot fuck the old club over because he will fuck us next time. and lastly, he MUST be cheap. i think even if falcao wants to come some dude is gonna come up with some bullshit like he might not perform as well cause we might not have the same kind of portugese food they do in porto.

Not sure Hudd would pass a medical but it is time he moved on, his style of football is incompatible with AVB's style of play

Hi all,

I've been on these forums for a while now and love the range of opinions we all have regarding our beloved Spurs. I thought I would give my bit with regards to transfers and next season now in my first ever post on SC.

We are CLOSE to becoming a very good side capable of a title tilt, however the lack of a clinical striker in the past two seasons has cost us dearly. With AVB looking to implement the 4-3-3 next season based on his past Porto team, it's clear we are only a few players away from achieving this. Hugo is one of the best keepers I've seen at the Lane, The centre backs are solid and we can rotate Daws & Caulker if Jan or Kabs are out, The midfield trio are powerful and won't be overran by an side in the league, although creativity has been lacking since Mod departed and finally Bale need I say anything, GENIUS!! Players such as Holtby, Siggy and Townsend will get more used to how we play and this season I expect a massive improvement from all 3, giving us options from the bench when teams come to frustrate us with 11 in their own half.

The full backs are an issue, with Benny and Walker being prone to silly mistakes and lapses of concentration. Although I feel Kyle will get better with age, BAE has cost us too many times and should be shipped out this summer. I would love for Danny Rose to step up and make the left back position his own, although playing in front of an expectant WHL is completely different from the struggling Sunderland of last season. Smith and Fryers can be tested in the early league cup and Europa league games to see if they can maker the step up.

As good as Lennon is on his day, he's far too injury prone and doesn't score as many as a wide forward in a 4-3-3 should, so I can see AVB wanting a player for the LW berth. At Porto AVB had Varela and Hulk cutting in onto their strong feet so I can see a Chadli come in, although saving money by using Bale, Lennon and Townsend and maybe getting someone on the cheap such as Maloney from Wigan who played that position well last season may save money for this potential Striker. A creative forward like a Silva, Mata or Oscar could also be an option with Bernard looking very good again last night (albeit very expensive)

I'm not sure whether Benteke is worth the reported 20 million, as we all know about second season syndrome and the inflated premier league prices. By bringing in Baldini I would have thought Levy was hoping he'd unearth some potential gems for a small transfer fee rather than spending big on known talent. Off the top of my head I can't seem to think of a striker who wouldn't cost big money and be an improvement on Ade, as lets face it, Defoe will never be a 25 goal a season man. Someone like Bony who went to Swansea for a reasonable fee might well have been a shout, or Michu who I feel offers more in his all round game than Benteke.

Anyway, those are my opinions and I'm glad I've finally lost my SC posting virginity :). Oh and to finish I found this on a Villa forum regarding the Benteke situation and it made me laugh during a bad morning.

Gotta laugh at Spuds, delusional average team, player swaps they have offered - hilarious. they just dont get it do they. they are an aging team we are a young growing team, if they splash the cash for CB then they will have no money to replace the overpaid pensioners, they are a team who will be in decline, a mid table team average at best. They need to sell Bale really, if not now then next year to finance a new squad. If CB can not see this then he deserves them. Put it this way, even after the last season I would rather be us than them, if PL can get rid of the rest of the big earners then we really will be going places. Spuds are where we were 4 years ago, they will have to go through a bit of what we have had, it may not be as bad but it will be a downturn in fortunes.
