Any other deals where that has worked?
No idea. Why are you asking me?

My point is I'd much rather we knew where we stood ASAP as opposed to fûcking them around/wasting valuable weeks by trying to low ball them for (supposedly) a much sought after talent.

If AVB said we are still in the market and we don't get those signings, he'll be off sooner rather than later.

How many non eu players are allowed in the starting 11 nowadays? Know it used to be 3 but not sure now? Just thinking because we already have paulinho and Sandro that would be non eu and with the talk of people wanting Damiao and Bernard, curious as to wether we would actually be able to field all 4..?

£13m and Gomes sounds a bit low. What would Gomes' market value even be?
Only had 6 months of football in yrs though so his inherent value will be diminished somewhat. Throw in the fact that keepers are still generally undervalued and he's worth ~ £5m-£7m tops, imo.

We signed him for £8m-£9m I think and that was when he was at his peak and coming off several CL seasons and winning multiple titles with PSV.

I'm sure that's what AM did too when they heard it. Joke of an offer but seems typical of the M.O. this transfer window so far other than paulinho.

I don't think that's a joke of an offer. A bit low yes, but not a joke. Personally I don't see how Bernard is meant to be worth £20 million. I reckon £15m-£16m plus Gomes (if they needed him) would be a fair offer IMO

Not sure there is a limit in the prem come to think of it.

I'm sure a few of them would have european passports either Portuguese or italian through their grandparents.

Its just your opinion that he is average of course.....you tend to forget that in that FACTUAL tone you throw around ;)

You didn't qualify your post with an "IMO" :

Remy is a lot better than most of you lot give him credit for. He would be an excellent addition to our squad. Also the feeling around the camp at QPR is he is not only innocent of all allegations against him, they believe charges will be dropped before they reach court.

QPR want players from us that we want to move on, so in all honesty, a move for Remy alongside a Bernard could be perfect.
The worry again though, is Remy doesnt smell like an AVB buy does it? more like a compromise thrown forward by the "committee"

I'd take him for the right money (£6m)

I still knew it wasn't fact.
