I think that losing Bale is inevitable and he is def Real Madrid bound, Though no way this season! there is a lot variables still to be played out over the course of this season and given our stronger impetus in the transfer market and the healthy state of our team in terms of strength there is every possibility that we could seriously challenge for the top and should be in a Champions league spot at least.

There are question marks over a few teams this season, Can Utd remain the dominant force they have been over the years under fergie? What about City and Pellegrini, They have spent buckets already, Though I don't see them hitting it off straight away and then you have Chelsea and Arsenal. Chelsea have the enigmatic special one back at the helm and for once I really am torn over whether they can be the force they were under him before, That said you would be foolish to rule them out. Arsenal are the weaker ones and the team we must set our sights on, I don't believe they have a squad that can challenge and it is clear as day that if we had had a better striker capable of finishing last season then I have no doubts we would of had 3rd.

It has been said before that this is our season to make or break and given our strong showing in the transfer market thus far then one must believe that this HAS to be the season that we don't choke, To do so would be a disaster I feel. Champions league is the bare minimum. If we sign Soldado like expected, Then we would of spent an incredible £50 million on 3 players! COYS!!!
Second Double?

People need to stop questioning ITK validity and stop bashing them.
Simple rule - Take every ITK with pinch of salt & dont get obsessed with info

Key in ITK is Bale signing new deal. Club captaincy is just a negotiation chip. If this is what it takes to keep Bale, so be it. Its not a stranger we are talking about-Bale has been part of us for 6 years.

I think Bale would make a great captain. And if that's the sort of thing that he wants then that to me suggests he cares about football more than money.

Bale new contract and Soldado signed by the end of the week?

*Crosses everything*

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Really great point. If ITK is to be believed here, he will not be short of a few bob either.

I've become so disillusioned with this saga that I currently feel like don't think I care anymore if Bale goes or stays, it's exhausting and distorting my views on him on a personal level. I just wish I could say unequivocally that I believe his representatives/him are definitely not behind any of this but I can't...

Well if we were to sell him, I am sure you will then care when we are playing on Thursdays or less every other week with all our best players wanting to leave.

The club captain sends the complete wrong message out for me, I don't see how you guys are justifying it - Because he's our best player?

You think the other players won't be thinking what the fuck, like they don't see the speculation and rumours.

If he publicly came out and dismissed the RM rumours for this season at least; I'd be more inclined to give him it.

Giving it to someone who 'apparently' wants out in a bid to appease him isn't what being a club captain is about, symbolic or not.

Well said, we lost Billy White over the weekend, we're also close to losing JJ. When will people stop?

'Terrible footballer'

Bit harsh!
honestly don't see how people defend him on a footballing basis.

i know with kaboul out he is the natural and first choice replacement but he is just simply not good enough if we want to push on and finisih top four as a minimun.

the fact that when we wanted to sell only QPR showed serious interest (that i know of) tells you everything.

Bale as captain;
If its for footballing reasons Im cool with it.
If its for his image / ego then Im not cool with it.

We've also lost Archibald, one of the all-time greats, but not due to bashing but because ITK gets disseminated so quickly that it's not safe. :(

That's exactly what Madrid want us all to do and feel. Don't do it!!

Can put Peanut in that bracket also.

Losing a lot of our good sources unfortunately...

Yep. Bound to happen obviously but I miss some of the old names. Peanut, for his ITK but also his quick temper and snarky attitude. Arch, BEN etc.

We've got some cracking newer ones though and a few of the older faces still about.

Oh geez... just 'cuz he has the title, 'club captain' doesn't even mean he'll wear the frickin' armband on match days. It's just a title. It makes his name synonymous with the club. Think of Club Captains in baseball... like Derek Jeter with the Yankees. It's an endorsement... a nod by the club to the player how important they are.

That said.... I could totally have it wrong. Does it mean if you have that title that you are always captain on match day?

Even if that was the case, it's a bit irrelevant. The generals on the field will always take over... armband or not. The Dawson's, Vertonghens, Lloris', Kaboul's, Parker's, etc... they will continue to do what the do, whether or not they're wearing a bracelet.

I just don't think it sends out any other message other than stating emphatically, that this dude is the most important player in the club. Period. And ya know what? I'm A-OKAY with that.
