Might just be nit picking, but whenever Gareth Bale was injured, he'd wish us luck on twitter.

I know it might be a case of being gagged by the club, but he didnt do that today. Even BAE did it, and he has more reason to be angry with the club.

Classless if he chose not to IMO

I think he has just chosen, and been advised to by the club, to not say a word. A few words from him could create a media storm and this is what the club is trying to avoid.

Listening to Holloway, no respect for him at all. Complaining about Chadli winning a shoulder to shoulder challenge while sending his team out to constantly niggle our players.

There are criticisms and other views that can be made regarding the match today.

But... Today is for savouring the victory. Got some beers in the fridge a chilling.

Tomorrow can be the knee jerkers muckfest.

La La La - I ain't listening.

Win's a win. I was worried about today after plenty of change and another summer of negative speciation. It'll take us a few weeks to get some cohesion IMO and in that time, I'll be delighted to see us keep nicking 1 - 0 wins. Everyone of our newcomers looks an improvement. Paulinho looks a proper player and good luck to anyone facing our midfield when we've Sandro and Capoue sitting in holding. Soldado all class and Chadli looks likely to contribute as well.

All in all, pretty pleased. Only disappointment for me was how bad our English contingent were with the ball. Dawson's long balls drive me up the wall. Rose and Walker can be very wasteful whilst Lennon just looks decidedly awful with his decision making.

Oh, almost forgot!

WE GOT A PENALTY, AWAY, IN THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON, WHICH WE WON!

Great Sunday!

Edit: AND THE SCUM LOST! TO VILLA! LOLS!

Finally !!

Decent, efficient, away win. Routine almost.
when the partnerships build between our new players and the others, we will be much better other arrival.
Soldado was a step ahead of Lennon the hole game but if they get it right, Soldado is going to score loads from Lennon assists.

In my haste I forgot to credit Lloris who saved our skin a few times today and Danny Rose who started the game poorly but looked excellent at the end.

Hope Hudd gets a haircut after today's game

When will we get a Kuro?
Seeing as Kuro means black in Japanese then I'll report you for being racist

Joking

just read the Holloway post match comments:

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway: "I've got to learn what a foul is because I thought Nacer Chadli deliberately bodychecked Stephen Dobbie, smashed him down, and ran off with the ball.

"If the referee didn't see that, the assistant should have. You have to ask if he's good enough if he didn't see that. I don't see how he can miss that.

"A minute and a half later, we're arguing over whether it was deliberate handball.

"I don't understand how it was a penalty, or how Dean Moxey could have got out of the way of it. I had three players right behind him.

"It's going to be a long hard season for me with these people (referees). I had this with Blackpool. Certain clubs get fouls and others don't. Tottenham will feel that if they play Man United.

"Do I think I would have got that at Tottenham? No I don't. I just want a bit of fairness. I want a foul like anyone else would have got one.

"I've got a horrible taste in my mouth after that."

He added: "We need to be more adventurous. We haven't had a good pre-season. Half of them aren't fit, which is why Marouane Chamakh wasn't picked.

"We had a great chance at the end with Kagisho Dikgacoi and didn't take it. We've got to learn very quickly."

I liked him previously, but frankly I have no idea what he is on about. Don't remember the chadli incident, and how he can say it wasn't a pen is a joke. The guy stopped a cross coming in with his hand, and he was 5 yards from the ball.

Don't like the dig about us vs man u either. small minded ****

Well, we won and all, so won't say I'm not satisfied.

However...

Why the hell is every single spurs striker never in the box? Why do they always have to drop down and run the wings or whatever?
This is probably instruction, but still, it's ineffective as fuck. Who wants Soldado to cross to Sigurdsson? We want it the other fucking way around AVB. I don't think I can do his job or anything, but I really hate the shit system he uses up front. Been this way for a year now, fix it.

Holloway in ref blame shocker. If anything they got the rub of the green from the ref, but don't let that get in your way Holloway.

Holloway is blaming the ref for not giving decisions his way... Did he even watch the same game I was? Bar the penalty, we barely got anything. Every little touch on a Palace player seemed to be given as a foul. Anything they did on us, was not given. Holloway irks me now. Hated Palace before, and even more so now after all this Palace love-in when they were actually shit for the most part. Really hope they go down with the lowest points total ever.

Ian Holloway is a wanker, what a sore sore loser - his side showed guts but were second best overall and Spurs deserved the win even though Spurs were rusty and didn't look to have gelled as they will in a couple of games.

His comments made me furious at the deluded shit tinted specs he was viewing this match through - what the hell is he on about? I used to like him, but after these sore Wenger/Mourinho ish comments I think he is a complete arsehole and I hope they go down and go down fast.

As others have mentioned, it seems they had all the decisions, and fouls on Spurs players were waved as Play on - it makes me laugh that instead of being humble and honest about the match and talking about positives and being a gentleman he instead decides to speak and act like a sperm

Vertonghen could hardly walk at the end of the game. It was his left ankle again. I guess we wont be seeing him for a few weeks.

I was at the game and for me Danny Rose was outstanding, cant see anyway back for BAE right now.

Soldado worked hard and looked the real deal. Lennon broke free three times down the right but failed to find him. Im sure that when they get more used to each others play, goals will come from this route.

Paulinho was neat and tidy didn't give the ball away much, I feel he will improve with game time. I had hoped for a little bit more really. I'm sure he will settle nicely.

Chadli had a slow first half but improved massively second half, when the play which was predominately on the right first half, switched to the left.

Capoue for me was the pick of the new players, his fitness will need to improve but he looked strong and in control. There was a lot more to this mans game than defensive midfield. He has everything for me, vision and power I was really excited by his general play.

At the death the worlds best sweeper keeper made 2 or 3 vital saves.

Great all round performance from our team which will only get better. COYS.

I think Crystal Palace's pressing and flooding of the midfield didn't allow us to play to our strengths, and instead we showed character and strength by changing our game and getting physical.

I was really pleased with Capoue - strength and skill and brains!

I think AVB has some difficulties in picking a Midfield - spoilt for choice - who does he pick out of Dembele, Paulino, Capoue, Chadli, Siggurdssen, Lennon, Bale and Sandro?

Walker was either brilliant or foolish today - brilliant in showing his pace and power and strength and making chances, foolish with a few mistakes which could've been costly - he's young, give him some time and he'll be flawless
