If we sign Will AND Lemela, I'm going run round the outside of my house, wearing only a spurs scarf and hat :playful:

Oh and donate to the wonderful SC of course, without it, it would not be half as exciting.:)

Can you imagine wengers (others too, but mainly wengers) face come September 3rd if we sign all these players and still have bale?? I'm betting he's a cryer. It's ok we got Sanogo is just hilarious

Just been chatting to a couple of Gooners and asked them how all their new signings were bedding in...all I got back was have you signed Bales leaving card yet. I said I had to sign all the welcome ones first.
Left feeling smug

Marca throwing in the towel ?

They are quoting Italian sources FFS now.
This latest exclusive is hilarious

http://www.marca.com/2013/08/21/en/football/real_madrid/1377073259.html

From Italy came the news that an agreement between the two parties was imminent, and that Fabio Coentrao would be a part of the deal, but the reality is that Levy has not even answered the Real Madrid president regarding his latest offer. "The signing will happen on the day that Mr. Levy wishes it to", those close to the player have told MARCA.

the 31st of Never, then!

Can someone please put my mind at ease that Willian can score a few, his record isn't the best is there any reason for this? His dribbling and skills are undeniable will he get into double figures? Or is he creator only?

Hi Donki , I said something similar in the Willian thread , a source of much mirth and general ' DOH ' ing...However then a very helpful snarfalicious stepped forward and said the following

I'll try to be as brief as a I can right now as I need to leave for a meeting in a few minutes.

Willian really shouldn't have a defined position. He should have a free role and should be able to pop up on the left, right or center of attack. He's always making himself available for the ball and what he does on the ball is truly special. The ability to dribble, pass, or go on intelligent runs off the ball. He'd instantly become our most creative player in the side. I'd love to see him start in the middle and let him pull the strings to hopefully Chadli and either Bale or Lamela. To me, that would utilize his skillset to the max.

His goal scoring is not great, but similar to Modric, he's a player that does so much more than show up on a stat sheet. Yes, he will get oodles of assists for us, and I think if he plays through the middle with the kind of cover we will have in behind him, he will score more. For Shakhtar he was always tracking back and chipping in on defense. For us, his primary role would be to focus on attack and really be the linchpin.

As for what I expect from him, I think 6-8 goals and around 10+ assists is reasonable. He's a fantastic player, truly fantastic. I watch the RPL pretty heavily and the three best playmakers in that league, in my opinion, are Willian, Honda and Dzagoev. What Willian brings to the table is incredible dribbling, great passing ability, he always plays with his head up despite being a guy who thrives on his dribbling talent and he's going to set others up for goal scoring opportunities. When you think of our side, with Soldado primarily in mind, we need better service to him. Willian would provide that.

Mr Snarf was then much winnered and beladen with honours from the large and silent majority who didn't know either ;)

Out last night, have a raging hangover and only just caught up with this thread. The only word I can use to describe this transfer window is surreal!! Feels weird to be just meeting clubs valuations without the usual protracted negotiations.

It leads me to believe that Bale must be off as there is no guarantee that we would be able to sell him for big money in a years time ( he could get a Sandro type injury for instance). Mind you, this window is so strange that who knows and I'm just enjoying the ride!!

Really pleased if we finally get Willian as AVB deserves to get some of his own targets.

For the first time I'm not panicking about losing Bale as I think we will be in good shape (although hearing that he is staying would still be the best bit of tranfer news for me).

The only thing I am a bit concerned about now is what if Soldado gets injured? I don't think we have got adequate cover if Ade leaves so we need another striker. Doesn't have to be a £20m level player but if we want to seriously challenge we have to have depth up front as well as midfield. City have Dzeko, Aguero, Negredo and Jovetic. United have Rooney, RVP, Wellbeck and Hernandez and Chelsea have Lukaku, Torres, Ba and will probably sign another striker. We can't be expected to compete with that but we still need better than just Defoe or Chadli doing a patchwork job there imo.

If you go to the front page you'll see a donate button to the upper right hand side of the page. Assuming you're not on a mobile that is. If you are on a mobile, you'll have to wait until you get onto a desktop i'm afraid.

Thanks for the donation (y)

And a huge thanks to everyone who took part in Spunky Tuesday yesterday too. Your donations are the reason we can keep going with so many users logged on at the same time.

I want to donate, I am on a computer, but not getting the front page. When I enter the site it goes straight to Forums. No yellow donation key. Help.

Anyone think if Friday is a deadline and Bale is told he is definitely not leaving; we will give him a new bumper contract? Not something I necessarily agree with but something that might happen.

Baldini should have arrived at Madrid.

Can some Madrid spurs tail Baldini and see if you can get some ITK? :sneaky:

Baldini will have certainly earned himself a bonus. If we end up with Willian, Lamela and Coentrao then he can afford to focus solely on the kids/academy going forward. Levy, Baldini and AVB collectively have been fantastic. Fair play to them.

Someone posted a team up the other day with Fox and Sinton in it. Fuck, looking back we overachieved for mid table - we're lucky we didn't end up a Nottingham Forest. Levy, IMO is the best chairman in the league and the way the club has progressed more than any other, without the City budget obviously, illustrates that.

I just can't think of anyone who is available and better than Adebayor. It's not Leandro I know that.

I've been keeping this to myself as I knew I'd get a shed load of abuse, particularly as I'm regarded as a BSoDL, but considering the latest ITK I think I'll share.

When my 14 year old daughter was born (note the age chaps) my Wife had her christened Levi. She always wanted a daughter called Levi so who was I to deny her?

I then made an agreement with her that, as she got to name our first child, I got to name the second.

Four years later, my Son was born.

I chose the name Danny, she changed it to Daniel at the Registry Office. I wanted Danny in honour of the great Danny Blanchflower (his middle name is David after the Big man).

Who knew?
