Got to be honest, I think that Barnett has done a job on him. I don't know him personally of course but this sort of stunt didn't seem in his character, he also doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed and is perhaps easily manipulated. Either way, he ultimately made the decision not to turn up for training, and though I wont hurl insults at him, equally I can't say I'll feel sorry for him should his dream move not work out.

Bale has helped us strike gold, which will ultimately make us stronger in the long run. I think in light of this, there is no need to be bitter & childish about him leaving!!!

Why is bitter and childish to be upset that a player contracted to our club has thrown a strop to get a move? Spurs made him the player he is today and he's thrown that back at the club.

Meh, I hope he's arrested and jailed for stalking Ronaldo after a week...

So all of this is based on the reports from The Mirror newspaper, not actually from AVB's mouth?

At least Rooney handed in a transfer request and trained with the team and played when required. I dont think Real Madrid comes into it, Rooney would have got paid alot more at Chealsea. Bale has simply been a little bitch and showed an utter lack of respect for the club, his team mates and most importantly us the fans. Nothing wrong with him wanting to go but there is away to go about things.

But United were never selling to a rival in a million years - a Real Madrid or Barcelona completely changes the landscape of potential transfers and once they come knocking with all the glitz and razzmatazz behind them, not to mention to lure of absolute fortunes then no player is turning them down.

Cue the insults flying to his twitter account. :sneaky:

Wick3d, nothing is more classy than going back in my post history and neg repping my previous posts, just because I simply disliked one of your many childish, RAWK'ish comments. Great job, lad.

Luckily I don't care enough about neg reps to do that to you, because I actually write some sensible posts from time to time.

Anyway, good job, lad. Hope you do one.

It's a real shame, but GB has completely screwed this up. He's done his best Veruca Salt impersonation and that is extremely disappointing. Glad to see the end of this, the back of him, and I'm incredibly excited about the upcoming season. :)

He was only after the golden ticket it seems,

I hope he doesn't think he's entitled to a signing on fee after all this for not putting in a transfer request because he's done everything but, the smarmy tit.

Why do these players decide to behave in this way? There's no need for it and it doesn't do anyone any good.

From the bloke I love most at Spurs to a bit of a twat - what an uneccessary let down.

Interesting, AVB was keen to get across the point we are looking at other targets aside from the three the reporter mentioned - Chiriches, Eriksen and Lamela.

True, but we've also made him what he is. It works both ways. We've treated him like a god, he refuses to train.

Well done AVB for making it public that it'll be a world record fee, Ronaldo and his representatives will take full advantage, good luck Perez.

Definitely briefed - firstly to appease fans and secondly to keep prices stable for those 3 especially.
