What good is a new stadium if we end up with a team of Walkers and Chadlis. lol

Chadli is the genetic test tube love child of Bentley and Mido rolled into one. £7m wasted right there. Be good at Sunderland.

I so wish we had you as Technical Director, rather than Baldini.

its gonna be Lloris..... seriously.

Casillas being put on the bench, still not too convince about Lopez...
Think Casillas will leave for game time in Jan, and if Madrid wants a superstar goalkeeper not cup tied for champions league...

very very few places to find one.

*sigh* hopefully when we make it to the champions league, we may be able to attract some of their unwanted stars.

i think barca will be in for him next summer to replace valdes.

Who's, whys and wherefores aside, i'm yet to find the answer to the question how?

Madrid still owe us for Modric, they're known to be in debt, in a country where there is such financial hardship, and where jobs are so thin on the ground 80k can show up on a monday lunchtime to see Bale, how in Satans balls did they manage to magic up £85m let alone the 0.3 and do it confidently in the face of the FFP rules - i simply cannot get my head around that bit.

I know he hasn't impressed so far, but a bit early to write him off completely...given what's happened to Bale a few years after being labelled a jinx, everyone deserves a bit of patience

Next time we have a world class player being tapped up by Madrid, refuse to sell and offer to Barcelona at the first opportunity.

Nothing stopping them selling to other teams but the partnership seems all one way. They get our players and we get none of theirs.

As part of this partnership, weren't two friendlies supposed to be included?

It's a business partnership on such things as marketing, promotions, best practice etc, not transfer dealings.

THIS

We do not have a partnership agreement with Real Madrid to give them first dibs on our best players. Bale leaving this Summer has been the result of them realising they needed to do this this summer as next summer, and from thereon in, their tax (and arrears), ability to be bailed out [sic.] by the city council, FFP regs, less TV money, would combine to make signings like this one problematic - unless they can attain some kind of financial health. Their ability to do this will be strengthened by signing Bale - Perez said, early on, and he wasn't exaggerating, that Bale would be an investment for them. So, when they told (allegedly) Gareth Bale that is was this summer or never, he may have been telling the truth. From Bale's end, we may think he was somewhat navive believing this, though that might not be the case. And whether another powerhouse club would come in for him next summer if Madrid didn't is something of a moot point if he really has dreamed of playing for them since he was a boy - I do find this somewhat confusing, however; when I was a boy, I dreamed of playing for Spurs. I didn't know anyone who dreamed of playing for a continental club at all. You could say we all dreamed of playing for the greatest club - but, for me, that really was Spurs, so if I had signed for RM and then said it had been my childhood dream I would have been lying. From Levy's perspective, he may be telling the whole truth, that they had no interest in selling Bale, or he might have secretly got a figure written on a napkin from RM and thought "FARKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK :eek::eek:...Bale, yer toast, son!" We don't know. But Bale's strong desire to join RM was probably the decisive factor.

We are not predestined to finish outside the top 4 because Arsenal have signed Ozil, don't be so melodramatic. He is a very good player (though everyone was saying the same about the lad Liverpool got off RM last summer), and he improves their squad. But he wasn't their priority (IMVHO) and he his signing certainly does not negate all the signings we have made and yet to see properly.

It was Daniel Levy who pushed for the partnership with RM. Anyone who believed he pushed for a partnership the main clause of which was that RM could have first choice on our best players, or, for that matter, that Bale doesn't know what he is doing where finances/revenues are concerned (which is what these strateegic club partnerships are about) LOL, just LOL :)

Look, in our present position in the layer cake, when we get exceptional players past a certain age in their development and, especially, beyond a certain age, we are going to get pressured to sell, and those players are going to pressurize to go. You need to get past being peeved that it is happening and recognise that it is happening with RM and the players are going abroad, rather than having to exist as United's bitch, is actually a step up the layer cake. Just where we are there was demonstrated when we could secure Lamela and Ericksen but Chelsea could bully us out of 25 YO Willian, and RM could bully us out of Bale. Better to focus on the fact that we are moving up the levels, and with a top youth academy producing top young players, a new stadium, and a team of exceptional players it will be harder to bully us out of players, easier for us to replace them (either in-house or not), less impactful on the team occasionally losing a player, and, if used correctly, just another spring-board for us to rise higher.

Stop the Chadli bullying...it is utterly pathetic (n)

The thing is Barca and Real Madrid are known to pay clubs to prevent them signing for other, we saw this with Neymar, Torres, Morena, Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema and etc. to prevent thier rivals from signing their players.

Even Neymar they paid ten mill early to prevent him going there and hence Madrid making over a 100mill bid for him and then they just paid 7mill for some more santos kids in a similar deal.

This whole partnership was suppose to be a first option for Bale which we were happy with as we didnt want him to go to another PL club but clearly it just works one way. We have made some great signings this window but other than those signings our fans and our club has been treated like shit from the our partner club. We are said to have a unofficial partnership with Ajax and yet they were treated better and vice versa

Sorry, Beats, but that is just totally nonsensical. What you are suggesting is that when Daniel Levy held the whip-hand over RM in the Modric negotiations so that he could force concessions out of them, he forced them to accept having first option on Bale and they didn't want to do it (they were reluctant to accept this partnership reported and ITK at the time), but eventually agreed just to get Modric. Why wouldn't he just whisper in their collective negotiating ear, look if United or any other English clubs are bullying us for a player, we would prefer that you got them, so expect our phone call. Why we he go to all the trouble of drawing up a non-existent deal pertaining to a business partnership on such things as marketing, promotions, best practice etc., and why would they be so reluctant to sign it.

The idea that it was to give them first dibs on Bale is a nonsense.

This is the payback we are being given by RM by selling their players to the Arscum because of Bale's sale procrastination.

I disagree that it was a connotation of the modric deal but I think Levy did have a agreement with Madrid if we were about to sell they would have first refusal. This doesnt mean we have to sell at a piss poor rate though and lets admit it, Levy makes plenty of promises he didnt keep. As for the Modric deal I was just merely highlighting thats what the reports at the time said that the partnership was to have a first option on each other players.
