My worry about Özil aside from Özil himself is that Arsenal have now picked up a contingent of German players. Three first team players and 2 or more youth players. I'm worried they're going to keep dipping into the German market and using the players already there to attract more. What's more is there's gonna be a load of German supporting goons now

One nasty injury away from being useless for assnal this season. As we were with Bale for stretches last season. Never a comfortable feeling.

German assnal fans? :wideyed: Terrifying prospect!

Yeah. They might go to the library and introduce singing.

Indeed. A spirit of togetherness is the last thing we need those nomad bastards obtaining. There'll be banners and flags waving. Coordinated chants and a feeling of good nature.

:wtf:

I actually meant the goons will be supporting the German national side but now you mention it Arsenal will no doubt gain fans in Germany too. They're already probably the most popular club in Germany alongside United so this is just going to make things worse.. :(

Need to start utilising some Chelsea tactics and buying any German players they try to sign, to stop them from getting them if nothing else. Holtby and Freund have got to count for something!

I have a vision of Ozil being a thorn in our side, just like Fabregas, Henry, Viera, Bergkamp were in the NLD for years to come.

That can't be right for a start. Every second Spurs fan has been going about how Ozil had 89 assists in every game last season.

But different leagues etc and Ajax are a perennial giant in there league so a bit apples and oranges.

Saw this on Twatter, although no idea if true or not as I'm too lazy to check!!!....

Ozil v Eriksen

Ozil: Age: 24yrs Apps: 105 Goals: 19 Assists: 47

Eriksen: Age: 21yrs Apps: 162 Goals: 32 Assists: 66

That's hilariously off. Not blaming you, but this guy is obviously cheaply trying to make Özil look worse than he is

Özil's stats from the last 4 years:

12/13 Played 60, scored 15, 29 assists, 4241 minutes
11/12 Played 62, scored 9, 35 assists, 4646 minutes
10/11 Played 65, scored 15, 37 assists, 4806 minutes (Real Madrid)
09/10 Played 58, scored 12, 33 assists, 4738 minutes (Werder Bremen)

This

Let's see what they're like during the busy Christmas schedule

I believe that we were the only club to have a 100% run over Christmas last season - that's what a SQUAD gives you :)

Exactly! And it was us who finished in the CL spots, not ars.....oh, hang on.

Brilliant signing by arsenal, end of. Regardless of whether it addresses their weaknesses, it is a signing that makes them a much better team.

Assists against bottom 10 la liga sides don't count, there are 4 teams in la liga that put up any kind of fight an he played for 1 of them. Every other team is a pub side by comparison.

Yeah, that sounds a bit more realistic tbh. Although it doesn't undo Eriksen's ability in my mind at all.

Talking of which you really need to get rid of that gif....every time I see a post from you I end up staring at the screen for 5 minute blocks of time, a bit like being stoned!!!!

Kerist. It wasn't a slight against Eriksen or anything. I assume then that those are just the last 3 seasons' worth of stats then, Monty? If so then yeah, even more impressive for our boy.

Huh, 39 goals and over 100 assists. Doesn't detract from our Christian of course but yeah, only slightly off for Ozil's stats.

Not sure the Eriksen ones are correct now. That's a hilariously bad effort from the chirpy person.

Just for comparison sakes, here's Eriksen from the last 3 years

12/13 Played 55, scored 14, 24 assists, 4711 minutes
11/12 Played 54, scored 9, 22 assists, 4336 minutes
10/11 Played 61, scored 10, 20 assists, 4100 minutes

Obviously Eriksen is only 21 though and so the two which are worth comparing are Eriksen from 12/13 and Özil from 09/10 (when he was 21 and playing in the Bundesliga):

Eriksen
12/13 Played 55, scored 14, 24 assists, 4711 minutes
Özil
09/10 Played 58, scored 12, 33 assists, 4738 minutes

Eriksen isn't toooo far off, and he'll develop well in the Premier league too if he can get used to it quickly

Someone who's on twitter please tell this Chirpy guy before he misinforms thousands of Spurs fans who then go round saying Eriksen is already better than Özil (not to say he can't be in the future)
