I don't post much, just a serial lurker. Just needed to pop in to simply say I'm losing the will to live.

At first I thought it was so embarrassing that I wished I was dead, but then I thought..... that's silly........ I just wish everyone else was dead

He was probably knackered though and he is no where near fully fit enough yet, dont forget he didnt have a pre season either

Too much sense, just moan more and call Tim a clueless wanker.

Some of the reaction here is laughable, for most of that game we were far better, we created, we attacked, we kept the ball. It was much more positive than 60% of our performances under AVB...our makeshift and rusty defence played pretty poorly when called upon and we conceded (two decent finishes tbf). Let's have a bit of fucking perspective, I saw more fight and gusto in that side for an hour than I've seen most of the season, maybe he isn't the answer long term, but fuck me like, give the guy a break.

It's the shit cup too, seriously, who really gives a fuck?

You may now continue the fucking doom-mongering.

I cannot agree that we were the victims of the formation and 'lottery football'... That was not end to end stuff where West Ham were as dangerous as we were and trying to find a way through. They did fuck all until hoofing a few long balls into the box which we defended as badly as any team I have ever seen. One or two decisions were questionable, and it was patchy display that was sometimes good, sometimes not so, but that was squarely a defeat down to incompetent individual defending rather than formation/tactics.

Is exactly what I'm saying MP. All this fucking know all bollox, like told you so - it couldn't be further from the truth.

Awful stuff from start to finish for me, though some of you seemed impressed.

All I saw was players literally running around a bit not having a clue and crossing the ball which effectively gave up possession every time

Knew it was gonna be a bad night with that team and formation. Disgusting Jurassic tactics from sherwood.

Know doubt BC will go much deeper into it than I will at some point but rigid old school 4:4:2 with poor English players, playing exclusively through the wings is sooo fucking bad. It may look eye catching to some, seeing one of the brain dead wingers speed down the touchline but it's so desperately ineffective when not on a counter attack that reduces the odds in our favour when crossing the ball.
And it leaves us light in the middle and at risk at being cut down, fucking roll the dice football. Excuse my French

Sack Andre to go back to this shit minus King, Modric and Bale? Fuck right off Sherwood

Mate I know you're upset, but don't you think you should give him more time. He's only been with the squad 2 days.

I don't think Sherwood got too much wrong, apart from the obvious with starting Defoe instead of Soldaldo, Ade did very well but due to his lack of games was never going to make the 90mins, I think the same can be said of Rose, Fryers is poor and nowhere near good enough and it aint Sherwoods fault we got rid of our other leftback, our power in midfield was missing due to the injury to Sandro and the suspension of paulinho, townsend doing his hammy hurt us but was already worried when rose went off, the back 4 look awful as they have all season under any sort of pressure and lennon is the master of looking useful whilst actually doing fuckall.

Indeed, where the fuck did Lennon go for that second half. Popped out to buy some Gucci pants with Defoe by the looks of things.

I found myself laughing in hysterical disbelief when that winner went in. What a fucking week this has been.

Soton is going to be grim, isn't it?

This won't be a popular opinion but I think Sherwood got really really fucking unlucky with the subs. Rose had to be protected for the prem and Ade hasn't played all season

Unlucky?

Look mate, I would accept someone saying on reflection we were probably unlucky to lose. However the subs were madness. Rose shouldn't have played if we had concerns over him lasting the 90 mins as the game could always have run long, Adebayor coming off would have been fine if Soldado had started with him but Defoe's love for standing offside and not giving us any presence upfront when it was clear they were going to bang in the long ball.

Yes the Townsend sub was unlucky but why not just use that sub to reinforce the midfield and tell Defoe to stand out as a wide striker and be useless there rather than through the middle, wouldn't have made much of a difference.

I wouldn't say he destroyed a team. Bale who wanted to go which was obvious for all to see is the only notable player to leave.

Our football was poor last season only rescued by Bale's brilliance.

Please take your head out of ur arse. We have 1 left back because AVB was a stroppy little bitch.

I agree. Can hardly say Baldini gutted the team. Out of the players who played a lot of games last year only Bale, Parker and Dempsey left. Parker was only in because of Sandro's injury too and Dempsey was everyone's whipping boy.

If AVB had kept faith in BE and Adebayor and worked on his service, the team would've been just fine IMO. Too many changes perhaps, but AVB didn't have to try and integrate 4 or 5 of them at once.

I really don't think a new manager will change anything. It's the players we have. Let's be honest Defoe will not get in any top team in Europe. Dawson will not and the list goes on and on. We are always going too be like this. Levy and co need too sell up and go. I know fans want like this but a suger daddy is what we need at the club. We will always get beaten by the likes of man city and Chelsea when is comes too buying players. We are still trying too run this club like the 70s and 80s. Football has moved on money talks. And spurs need too step up or it's always going too be the same old story ever season

All my days off in the week coincide with a Tottenham game so I can watch every game. Why did I do this to myself.

Defoe was their biggest threat, he kept running offside giving them freekicks in their own half which their goalkeeper could just knock long.

It's alright, I bet Spurs has been the direct cause of many spree-killing rampages in the past!;)

For all those saying he got the subs wrong, who exactly would you have brought on? Adebayor was exhausted, if he'd brought on Soldado how many would have said he shoud have shut up shop?
not taking off Defoe after a terrible 1st half was ridiculous. if we're 0-0 with 1 shot on target after 50-55 minutes, that's when its time to change it up.

What we lacked last year, we still lack after spending 110m.

We never replaced Modric with anyone similar.

We have no1 in the middle of the park who wants the ball. Who will take it under pressure. Biggest mistake we have made, not buying a similar player.

Our midfielders are all athletes but scared to receive the ball under pressure, this we find ourselves passing along back 4 and back to keeper

I think he's actually saving them for sunday and we should see them then.

I'm pretty certain that he has been reminded how important it is for us to reach CL.

I'm waiting for sunday before I judge him, the prem is where it's at.

It is obviously very important to get into the CL but qualifying for the Europa League may be our best chance of getting there.

I'd love to share your optimism but if we can't win against the team we played tonight I don't hold much hope of winning at Southampton away.

I can't wait to see what Tim's got to say for himself.

While I won't base my judgements on Sherwood on this game, I really don't think now is the time to be putting someone in charge that just doesn't have the experience.

I thought Sherwood being this all powerful whatever it is he is behind the scenes might have led to at least a glimpse of Lamela. But instead we roll back the clock and serve up up that. I was thinking along the lines of Holtby and Dembele in the middle, Eriksen, Lamela, Lennon as the three then Bobby up front.

When I saw the line up all I could here in my head was "well, he's a triffic lad."

And I thought who the fuck is calling what shots and why? Has Sherwood ever met Baldini? Did Baldini smuggle Lamela into training one day and release him from a fucking suitcase like the gimp out of pulp fiction? Was everyone like - "who the fuck is that guy?!" Is just rubbish, the lot of it.

If we field a line up that resembles that that was fielded tonight in the league then I have no idea what scorelines are gonna look like against us. West Ham didn't just do us with long balls they fking murdered us down the left as soon Fryers came on.

Lets hope the new manager rumors intensify and fast.

Oh, and my shout would be Lucien Favre from Gladbach, just putting it out there.
