Too much sense, just moan more and call Tim a clueless wanker.

Some of the reaction here is laughable, for most of that game we were far better, we created, we attacked, we kept the ball. It was much more positive than 60% of our performances under AVB...our makeshift and rusty defence played pretty poorly when called upon and we conceded (two decent finishes tbf). Let's have a bit of fucking perspective, I saw more fight and gusto in that side for an hour than I've seen most of the season, maybe he isn't the answer long term, but fuck me like, give the guy a break.

It's the shit cup too, seriously, who really gives a fuck?

You may now continue the fucking doom-mongering.

We actually pressed collectively as a unit really well in the first 30 mins. After that it was all a bit headless chicken.

First game in charge, needs to make an impression, must win game... Completely f-ked it.

Thought he did pretty much the right things even if central midfield choice was risky. He clearly had decided to play on high tempo and thus it was choice wether to field his 1st choices in midfield/attack tonight or on weekend. He prioritised PL so he hasn't completely given up on that. Had no proper alternatives to counter Fat Sam hoofball on central defence.

I'm not surprised at all. just a small comparison on this lineup and last years.

2012/2013:
Lloris
Walker Dawson Vertonghen BAE
Lennon Parker Dembele Bale
Ade Defoe

vs

today:
Lloris
Walker Capoue Chiriches Rose
Lennon Siggy Dembele Townsend
Ade Defoe

Todays lineup was really bad. These players just aren't good enough to beat any decent PL team. Simple as that.

You do realise that we have 3 out of 4 Defenders out for the game and sandro out as well.

they got embarassed months ago losing three nil at home to hammers and rivals yet they go out tonight and produce a performance like that . says it all about the players and club . no heart no effort and no desire to put things right and give fans something to shout about.

Probably not a popular choice, but I would go for Rafa Benetiz. Reckon he'd be open to the idea too as his family still live here on the Wirral, not sure if he'd put up with all the board shenaggins though.

Swap Capoue with Vertonghen, Siggy with an actual midfielder and Soldado with Defoe and we win today. Nothing Sherwood could do about the back line, but the other two were possible.

While I won't base my judgements on Sherwood on this game, I really don't think now is the time to be putting someone in charge that just doesn't have the experience.

Maybe you're right bro but some of the reactions on here are well..............Just wow.

I really don't think a new manager will change anything. It's the players we have. Let's be honest Defoe will not get in any top team in Europe. Dawson will not and the list goes on and on. We are always going too be like this. Levy and co need too sell up and go. I know fans want like this but a suger daddy is what we need at the club. We will always get beaten by the likes of man city and Chelsea when is comes too buying players. We are still trying too run this club like the 70s and 80s. Football has moved on money talks. And spurs need too step up or it's always going too be the same old story ever season

Your o is stuck.

I thought Sherwood being this all powerful whatever it is he is behind the scenes might have led to at least a glimpse of Lamela. But instead we roll back the clock and serve up up that. I was thinking along the lines of Holtby and Dembele in the middle, Eriksen, Lamela, Lennon as the three then Bobby up front.

When I saw the line up all I could here in my head was "well, he's a triffic lad."

And I thought who the fuck is calling what shots and why? Has Sherwood ever met Baldini? Did Baldini smuggle Lamela into training one day and release him from a fucking suitcase like the gimp out of pulp fiction? Was everyone like - "who the fuck is that guy?!" Is just rubbish, the lot of it.

If we field a line up that resembles that that was fielded tonight in the league then I have no idea what scorelines are gonna look like against us. West Ham didn't just do us with long balls they fking murdered us down the left as soon Fryers came on.

Lets hope the new manager rumors intensify and fast.

Oh, and my shout would be Lucien Favre from Gladbach, just putting it out there.

This is actually a really good point: From what we understand, Sherwood was probably instrumental in most of our new signings. AND EVEN HE DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY THEM!

Our players are top fucking notch in the main. Just find someone who isn't spastic to herd them effectively and we'll do well. Get in a guy with real talent and we can go toe to toe with any team in this league.

He got Chelsea really humming last year, hey turned into title contenders in that latter part of the year. If they'd have kept him they'd have continued to build the team around Mata and would be favourites IMO.

But I cant see him leaving his current post.

People just making excuses for Sherwood in the media. What about AVB?!

I guess you can be afforded excuses when you've had two days and got your only real fit centre back suspended and no proper CM to come in. Unlike a guy that has failed to get a team playing for 18 months.

Can we contact elon musk and arrange a collaborative project where we fund their research with the ultimate aim of firing Defoe off to Mars orbit for gods sake
