What ?

1) At the moment we are trying to compete with Everton,Pool and Newcastle We don't have a much smaller budget than them
2) William has been playing well When he gets a chance as opposed to Lamela
3)I agree with Berba comment
4) Potential not good enough in cut-throat premiership
5) Real skill and passion - We don't seem to attact them kind of players with both those attribute at the moment if ever !

1) We're trying to compete with Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. We are competing with Everton and Newcastle and temporarily Southampton.
2) Willian hasn't been playing particularly well but again you've completely missed the point. The point which you've somehow missed is if one their £20m+ players doesn't perform then then they have 4 others in the same position who can. We can't afford for a big money purchase to not perform. Hence the fine margin I was talking about.
4) You're kind of agreeing with me but once your bizarre sense of logic has defeated you.
5) Again you're agreeing with me but you don't even know it.

If Lamela is lame then Hazard is a hazard and Coutinho is a word I'd get banned for.

.

:)

I'm still trying to figure out when we began judging players abilities by the words we can make from their surnames... and how did we derive fuckface from WIlshere?

On their day They are much more of a team that I have seen us play for a very long time. Perhaps that time when Berba played on his his own at Man City its truely ages since we have not relied on Bale, Berba or Modric

I do agree to a certain extent but I also think that back when we had Berba (around 06/07) expectation was not so high. I remember being chuffed at being in the Europa and genuinely excited about finishing top 6..we have been found out as we have had more exposure and talk has turned of must be top 4 finishes and even title challenges..not as many teams used to park busses at our ground and most of the fans enjoyed being there but you have a point regarding a "team". Players like Teemu, Lee Young Pyo, Steed were not as good individually as who we have now but I guess there did seem more of a team mentality back then which travelled from the players, to the manager/staff and to the fans.

This post might contradict what I actually thought when I started typing it lol

There is no logic in football its an art. So wtf if i have a bizzare sense of logic. What I do know is our team has little art at the moment and only a bit of logic. We are a team of Jermaine Jenas's Vintage 2013 Brushed off the ball by Liverpool What Shame

That's fine but when I write a post saying we lack the creative side to make me excited then you write a post disagreeing with me saying we lack this creativity then surely you can understand why I'm perplexed.

I think if you look at the players we have right now, and you look at the table, then yes we have the chance to recover somewhat this season. What would constitute a recovery ? I'm not sure.

The OP may have been dramatic but some of the people saying 'get a grip' and the like, seem to be missing an important part of the point.

Something is inherently wrong at the very core of our club. We have a hierarchy that seems to do well with finances and astute player recruitment. However, the current ownership have shown that they are either

A) incapable of picking the correct manager

Or

B) incapable of having a functioning and workable relationship with any manager.

It's one of the two, so take your pick. Neither are particularly great.

I've pretty much alway supported Levy and been a fan of his despite some of the bumps along the way.

Perhaps, for the first time, I just don't get it. I'm not entirely sure I know what we are trying to do. I thought I did, but not anymore. We do some things very well, but a lot of the times those are offset by turmoil in the ownership to coaching spine. That then effects a whole number of things.

I could always usually see the line of thinking or the plan in Levy's manoeuvres. Right now I sense nothing other than desperation and the potential for complete crisis.

And that's not a mark against Sherwood who I have absolutely nothing against.

Even if a new manager comes in and does well, what do we think will happen down the line ?

Do we expect a harmonious working relationship and a long term employment that brings us much joy ?

The track history is now pointing towards that looking like an impossibility.

Lloris, Vertonghen, Sandro, Eriksen. There's four nailed on starters.

Joke .. Erikssen ... Dream on ..He would not get in that Liverpool team I saw on Sunday There is a difference between MOTD highlights and watching the whole game. Erikssen is not up to it at the moment

How can you come out with such a ridiculous statement? You telling me he couldn't do a better job than Joe Allen? All he'd have to do is play simple passes the whole time. But then he wouldn't have moany fans like you on his back if he were there.

Glad I took the time to read this long post. We really do seem to have come off the rails And a few world class players have covered over the holes But water is starting to pour in

We had the opportunities over the last few years to take the club to the next level, but we've managed to miss out, ignore, or blow every one of them.

I remember wondering how long we'd be able to hold on to our star trio of VDV, Modric, and Bale. Well, true to form of a professional selling club, not long at all. Every one of those players being replaced by a downgrade shows the ambition of the club.

Maybe Harry was right all along. Without a sugar daddy to buy and keep the best, those last two or three seasons were probably as good as it's going to get with Levy in charge.

Still...at least we're doing things 'the right way'. Whoopy fucking doo.
