Fucking hell, I've Ben trawling through this utter depressive bullshit and I can't take anymore. Tim's been in charge for 4 games, 4 fucking games!!!!! He's trying to change the footballing philosophy of the entire club, he wants the players to express themselves and mistakes will happen, that's football and the human nature.

If all you want to do is have a go and dig out the players after one bad result then fuck off! Get behind the team, guarantee these comments weren't being banded around after New Year's Day.

People need to get a grip, there's so much potential in this side and in my opinion the future is very bright, get behind the lads and the new manager or do one

Agreed. I was at the 5-2 humiliation last year...behind enemy lines as I call it. We seem to go to pieces. I can't fathom why. The atmosphere is almost laughable and I don't say that with any bitterness. I've never known such a souless stadium. Their chants... 'Arsenal...Arsenal...Arsenal' and that 'by far the greatest team the world has ever seen' crap that 40% of clubs use are a joke. It's not a 'cauldron'...I just can't understand why we seem to struggle there.

I was honestly embarrassed for their fans that day....even at 4-1 down at half time. I was stood metres away from our fans that day (where you'd think their 'die-hard' fans would be...and I remember looking around and thinking everyone looks like Syd Little from the 80's TV show 'Little and Large' with red and white scarfs. I've honestly never seen anything like it.

Why should it be a place we can't get a result?
Because unfortunately Syd Little is not on the pitch or in the dug out :(

You're right mate. Considering the amount of noise we made at Old Trafford too. Its no coincidence that we defended a 1 goal lead for over half an hour when united were throwing the kitchen sink at us when our fans supported them through it.

Im not bashing our away support, because its absolutely amazing, but i feel that had they stuck by the team tonight, we could have gotten back into the game.

I also think the away fans we get at local games like arsenal and chelsea are not the same fans who travel all across the country...and that was telling tonight.

Posted this during the match but thought I would repost to get peoples opinions?

Playing Bentaleb today was a massive mistake for me today. It's not about what he has done, it's about what he hasn't done. No breaking up of the play. Or at least not enough to qualify him to start in a NLD in a 442 in the FA cup

Agreed. He did well, but it was a strange set up. He's obviously feisty, he showed that with the 'stamp'...it took me back to 1995. I'm sure he intended it. When I look back at the Blackburn side Sherwood used to captain...characters like Colin Hendry, Graeme Le Saux, David Batty, Flowers, and 'Mr Elbow' Shearer - I think he obviously is used to that kind of player. In his mind....he was a winner..with those type of players. I realise that might sound presumptuous and I maybe reading too much into it.

I'm not saying it's the wrong philosophy....it's too soon to tell. I just get the impression after today...maybe Bentaleb is a bit of an alpha male in the youth side. We don't know his character. Maybe Sherwood was thinking we need some grit. We do lack grit. He's obviously too young to throw into a derby, but maybe he was thinking...'throw him in...he's the kind of lad who will mix things up a bit'.

Made some great challenges for a young AM. But I do agree with you. Was strange. As soon as I saw the team sheet I wondered why Capoue wasn't in. But then we played Capoue and Sandro earlier in the season and we all knew what happened there. It's a tough one. Sherwood's probably asking the same questions as we all are.

hate to break it to you. But i dont think Capoue would have been the difference.

Anyone who thinks we just had to play Capoue and/or play an extra man in midfield to change the outcome of the ga,e over is ignoring the fact that they were just plain better than us (check the league table and form), and would have been no matter which of the players we had available we put out.

We've lost to far weaker teams that Arsenal at the Emirates playing non-442 formations this season.

Dude, you make it sound like we couldn't do a goddamn thing under any circumstances against this Arsenal side! Forgive me, but even Gus Poyet wouldn't be as defeatist with his Sunderland squad.

Possession must have been pumped up in the second half when he changed it and they dropped deep to zing us on the counter.

Lennon Capoue Bentaleb Eriksen
Dembele
Adebayor
Might have got us something today
Nah, they'd have still overrun us imo.

You really have to match them in the middle imo.

They are just too good as a unit to take any chances.

[edit] Oh sorry, you mean dembele off of ADe?? Yeah, that may have done it. Bele drops deep naturally anyway.

Arsenal are a very good side, but nowhere near as good as we made them look.

There's all the talk of small-club mentality, and how playing 1 striker is "madness, how will you ever score goals, where's the ambition," but we sure looked like a bunch of players who couldn't handle the stage. We played like a small club today. Wasn't enough fight. We almost seemed to give up. You can play gung ho tactics all you want but we were simply not good enough and I think the players knew that.

I personally would've gone with:

--------Capoue---------
--<<<Dembele>>>---(arrows indicate license to intercept, pick up and then go forward with Capoue as the Anchor
Eriksen--------Lennon
---------<<<Soldado>--
------Adebayor-------

If we had more than about half-a-dozen goal attempts in that game I'd be surprised; we lined up with Capoue, Dembele and Paulinho across the middle and they still got through.

and probably created more chances than they did today. We also didn't look like were going to score in that game ealier in the year if we played another week.

Only saw the last half hour but thought it was an entertaining game .

We pressed them but did have the key to unlock them .

A couple of Gooners were baiting me saying we were sh1t but I've seen us a couple of decades ago when we really were and this was vastly superior .

My hope is that the board can their unrealistic expectations for CL qualification this season and learn to take a longer term view of things as I'm starting to think Tim might be the right man for the job .

I'm getting a little sick and tired of Sherwood's love affair with the Bentaleb and I don't want to see him start again until he can prove that he can make things happen coming off the bench. I just can't see the justification behind it. I've always said he has impressed but that's because he's done alright and that's impressive enough for a newby. I said alright not spectacular. He done nothing wrong, but he's not done anything brilliant either. We have Holtby and Capoue just sitting there. All of those guys have more of a potential to make something happen than Bentaleb given their experience and it was mistake not to start one of them. Remembering that Holtby and Sigurdson HAVE made something happen before, by way of assists and GOALS!
